Took both cars in last week for the ball joint recall. I had called our service writer the week before and he got parts ordered for both cars as well as other parts we needed.

The '99 only has 3500 miles on it, the ball joints were changed and the tech stated that the defect was not noted on this car. The '01 has over 17,000 miles on it and the tech said that the boots were cracked and the defect was noted on the car.

We had noticed that the steering was "a bit tighter" than original, but nothing as severe the power steering going out. The steering is now much easier than before the repair.

Thankfully, the recall caught the problem on one of our vehicles before any damage was done or someone was hurt.

While the cars were there they noticed the hot glue on the center caps, two with broken tabs and ordered us 2 to replace those under warranty as well.
