I'm going to do the ball joint replacements myself and ordered the tools last week. The three tools I need were on back order (already have the Miller Prowler tool kit)and the delivery date I got was the first week in June. I would assume that a lot of the dealers didn't order the tools when the recall first came out. Unfortunately, a lot of people will have to expect some wait time ------------------ |

I've been waiting over 6 weeks for my dealer to get the tools and now they say another month, not to mention that I do have a cracked ball-joint and the car has been immobile for almost six months while I waited for parts (before the recall). so don't feel too bad. |

Mike: the major tool you will need to complete the job is like a giant C clamp if you check with a local Snap-on or Mac tool dealer and buy a u-joint press the kit comes with adpters to also do ball joints you will have no problem in fact the tool they sell is made by Miller, some one posted a picture of the job being done a whle back and it shows the tool in use Mike scroll down to 4/24 by laddie title "more pics" you can see the c-clamp it is a tool most dealers have had for years in the tool room, nothing new about it curtis ------------------

None of the dealers in my area have the tools. My dealer is borrowing one from the local zone office. I'm scheduled for this Friday and it will be the second Prowler recall they have performed. Rkstr |

Mike K. I was wondering how you were going to handle the recall with all your museum quality cars. I guess you will have piece of mind doing it right yourself. You must be cringing at the horror stories here.... ------------------ |

Mike, in a way I'm kind of surprised your not making special 'new" ball joints that can be lubed for your Kat's |

Currently in my 4th week.... waiting for the dealer to get a tool needed to do the job. Yesterday, I called the toll free Chrysler number on the recall letter. They gave me a case number and promised to pursue expedition of getting the needed tool to the dealer. |
