Has anyone that has had their ball joints replaced, with the boots still intact, examined the old joints and found them bad or greaseless or anything else that might indicate that they were on there way to failing? Seems like all the ones that have failed have had cracked boots letting outside dirt enter.

My old joints were clean as a whistle and full of goo. Kat's ball joints were like that too!

My joints looked fine and the boots were not torn (on the car that is)

The replaced joints were OK.

The joints without the broken boots (1st Kat) were fine, the other Kat had broken boots, steering was tight and the joints were tight.
