I took my beloved NVRMND to have the recall done here in Houston, results, Knuckles scarred both uper and lower, chip on fender. I contacted them and advised them of these issues and they want to look at it. They said they had a Yellow they were getting ready to do so I hope I may have saved someone from getting the same results. They do not have the correct tools yet, why the hell did Chrysler send a recall out with out providing the proper tools. You know a simple instructional video perfromed by barney and I could have done a better job. I fear taking her back as I figure I will have more problems than these, like OOPS we kinda forgot to secure the lift!BOGUS

What dealer was it? I need to get mine done soon and will probably go to Allen Samuels in Clear Lake. They have done good work so far on mine.-Pete

That's why I haven't taken mine in yet - I fear what is going to happen. I still think I'm going to wait and let my dealership practice on someone else's car!------------------ 2001 Mulholland Edition Prowler 2001 King Ranch Edition Ford F-150

I think this recall was poorly executed, since a lot of dealers don't have the correct tools. I'm with TL.

I've have been dealing with Gillman Chrysler in Rosenberg, tx and they did a good job. Several of my area owners have gone there and had theirs done also. One of my owners e-mailed me about two dealers in his area that refused to do the recall saying they either didn't know anything about it or as one said "it requires special tools and we're not buying them just to do one or two Prowlers." I called my parts guy at Gillman and he ordered the parts right away for that owner which as it turns out are now on backorder. I've also advised them if they had their car done before April 21st that they should have the car rechecked to see that the top nuts are set to 65 lbs torque and not the 95 lbs torque that was in the orginal recall instructions. Jerry, real sorry to hear about your horrors with your baby. ------------------ Fred J. Henkel "My Kitty's bottle fed!" http://www.lordofthelooks.com

Fred - in your recent email you mentioned to have them "loosen" the top nut. I asked a 2nd dealer whether the top nut can just be loosened or needs to be replaced since it is a one time use nut. He told me it had to be replaced once it has been tightened like that. I'm also asking my uncle and waiting on his reply. He has many cars and has been racing and doing ALL his own work on the cars since '57. Will let ya'll know what I find out.

NVRMND....if your dealer had not received the proper tools, then perhaps he should not have done the recall work until he did. How do you know that the dealer actually ordered the tools and is not just telling you he did, because they didn't want to spend the money for them?I'm sorry your vehicle was damaged, I'd be upset, too, but I'm also waiting until my dealer has the proper equipment and instruction (he will call me when he does) before I take mine in.
