I went to the Chrysler/Mazda dealership in Killeen, Texas. When I asked if they had a Prowler Tech, I was quickly told, they were a Chrysler dealership and they did not need one. Then I asked if I could wait while they fixed my car, I was told yes but they most likely would not get to it that day. I reminded them I had a 7:00am appointment and was informed regardless of the appointment it was first come first serve. *Why have appointments, to make me feel better? I collected my thoughts and left to the next five star dealership.

Now in Temple, Texas. The service manager was more informed. He had the data sheet on the recall, looked up the tools and advised me it would not be in his best interest to service my vehicle due to the fact he would be out the price of the tool kit & there were so few Prowlers that he wouldn't service another. He apologized and sent me on my way. I again collected my thoughts and left the dealership.

Now in Waco, Texas. I was informed he had a Prowler Technician and he had the tools. That service manager advised he had done a few Prowlers and could have my vehicle in a few hours, asked if I wanted to watch the service done.***that blew my mind. I know where my service will be done for now on. Were looking into buying a new car and guess where!!!

Unless your Prowler is just another car, I suppose its no big deal. It was to me.

I guess I need to check back with the local dealership to see what practice they have had. It's been a couple of weeks since I last spoke to them about this, they still haven't called to say they have the tools or parts yet! I'm still not ready myself though, I want to wait a little bit to see what else happens with the proceedure!

Its not just gossip, I wouldn't use killeen or Temple. I'm very particular who works on my car, and trust doesn't come easy with me. You may be waiting a while Trandall.
Ill tell you this, tell the Waco guy I sent you and you will get a friendly chit-chat, that with me goes a long way. Ive filed complaints with the Killeen and Temple dealerships and they are founded, according to the Chrysler Headquarters. I`ll take you to dinner if Im wrong.

Food for thought.

Chris - I just talked to the local dealer here and they still have not received parts or tools! They have not even been able to do the recall on the Dealer's wife's Kat. Could you get me the name and # of who you dealt with up there. Looks like I'm drivin' to Waco, Texas!!!

TL...maybe check to see if the dealer has a sister dealership that might have the tools...

My dealer is one of many owned by one guy, and they had one tool betwen all of them. They just loaned it around to any dealer who needed it at the time.

Maybe worth looking into?

Good luck!
