I was wondering, on the letter I received in the mail it states that the recall takes 2 hours to do. Since I moved last year, I am closer to a different dealership. I called this dealership that is close by and have sold Prowlers and service them also, so experience is not an issue. I called and asked to see how long they would take to do the car....and to my surprise, they need it for 9 hours (8-5. That to me is ridiculous. Since I am alone at this time and all my friends are busy, that is unacceptable as waiting time. This only means that they will work on the car in their "spare" time. I decided to take my business elsewhere, to the place I used to take the Prowler. This place is 1 hour away, but they will do it in 3 hrs tops. My question is, what did the people that took their cars in for the recall do, wait or go home? Any suggestions? BTW....I almost also got decapitated since the hood shocks are dead. That was a nice surprise as well. |

I took mine in and let the dealer have it for the day... 3 days later my husband had his done in about 3 hours. |

I just got new hood shocks at Car Quest. About the recall service, I'd wait AND watch. I believe if they have competent service people, they should have nothing to hide. |

I had mine done on Tuesday. I was told to drop it off at 8:00 and I would have it back by 12:00. ------------------ • MTD Prowler Intake System 2.2 |

I left mine for a day but it only took a few hours. Please see the Ball Joint Recall discussion. This subject has been covered in great detail and there is too much information covered to include in a single response http://www.prowleronline.com/cgi-bin/forumdisplay.cgi?action=topics&forum=Ball+Joint+Recall&number=14&DaysPrune=45&LastLogin= This message has been edited by BeWare on 05-09-2003 at 02:59 PM |

Scottsdale is getting the special tool and is going to start on the recalls. Tina, one of our local owners, is in both the parts and service departments and is well aware of what is going on and we'll get an update as to how the work is being performed. |

Thanks A/C! I'm not in a hurry...just asking cause I may plan a trip with Julie to Cal for a few days and take the Prowler. Actually I am still considering doing the joints myself if I can get Chrysler to release them to me. I'll wait for further info on Moses Dodge... |

I left my car with the dealer all day, got a loaner to drive home, when it was done they called me to pick it up the same day. |

My dealer is an hour away and worth the drive. Wait for the car and get them to let you stand with car even for just a few minutes... That gives you a chance to see if the car was lifted properly, and a chance to look under the car while it is on the lift. I spotted leaking shocks during my recall and had them placed under warranty.
