Just had the ball joints replaced 2 days ago at Kirkland Chrysler here in WA. I had it scheduled for at least a month waiting for a two day period without rain (kinda tuff here in the Great Northwest). Thay had the car for three days - they somehow misplaced the special toolkit they assured me they had received. They drove cross town to borrow a kit from another Chrysler dealer. The Service Consultant, Jason, was very accomodating and seemed in tune with the care we require with these cars. I talked to the Prowler Tech on the phone, Vince, while he was waiting for the tool kit and he assured me the car was being handeled with kid gloves. (I SHARED WITH HIM ALL OF THE HORROR STORIES I READ HERE, center caps, scratches, etc). He said he had a special tool for the center caps and they came off easily, etc., etc..
I looked the car over when I picked it up and saw nothing visual.
I washed it this morning AND cut my finger real good where the right cap has a tiny split and raised area on the slot to slip the tool in - it is very tiny but the finger bled real big..... When I washed the left cap it started to wobble so obviously something is broken there. I will call tomorrow to see if they are going to replace them. I am a bit concerned that they tried to pass that off on me. Both of those problems had to have been noticed by the tech while removing or replacing.
They also replaced an "arm" because it was scored inside. Everything else seems ok. They did align it and I do notice one wierd thing. If my steering wheel is turned slightly to the right or left and I power brake I get a strong pull to that side - almost like one brake grabbing harder than the other.

pocotoo, I had them set the caps in the car after completion to verify caps were intact and so I could reinforce them prior to reinstalling them. Two broken on my wife's mine-OK. They may not be trying to pass the broken cap off, they may have broken when being replaced and they just did not know it happened. For some reason my wife's katt pulled a little to one side after the recall was completed, but that passed. Has not had the problem since. Maybe they are reseating themselves. I'm not much of a mechanic, I'm sure somebody that has the knowing will comment about the brakes. On your steering wheel, if the alignment was significantly off, when they correct the alignment, your steering wheel was centered for the old alignment and is now slightly off center now that your alignment is true. You will need to take the car back in to have them center the steering wheel. Again I'm not a great mechanic, however, this happened to a truck I have. Hope I've been of some help.
