I just spoke to our local dealer about bringing in my Kat for the recall work this week...

I asked him about the dreaded scratches and how they were avoiding them. He said they use towels...

Has this worked for anyone else? It sounds better than nothing there. Any ideas?
Thanks

The technician who worked on my Prowler showed me the leather faced piece of hardwood he made for the repair. It was a block approx. 3"wide, 6" long, 2" thick.
Bottom line, no marks. Good luck.

Kala - I would check with others in your area and see who has had the work done without any problems.

Email Larry Lord and CMBlockhaus,,,they should be able to answer you with California dealership advice.

I picked up my car today

It was perfect! No scratches, marks, or witness marks!

Thanks to everyone who gave me input publicly and privately.

The dealership was receptive to the ideas that came from POA members.

Thanks again

I had it done in Fillmore...

I spent a lot of time talking to Bart and Brian. It took me 3 days to finally give the ok on doing the recall. They figured out a way that worked, with no marks. The guys know what they are doing now. Im happy with them.

I had to make it work locally, as Im just too busy right now to drive somewhere else...

I did meet the guy with the Purple Prowler, he lives in Fillmore. Young guy, has had the car less than a year. We talked about POA. He said he was going to register. I havent had time to see if anyone in Fillmore had...

Hey Cliff...

I chased him down in my PT Cruiser! You should have been able to catch up with him in a Durango
