Geno:Local dealer here wants $78,500 for a silver Viper that stickers at $84,700. It's a really sharp car. But a bit too steep for me right now. F&F? Not a chance............. Hope all is well. Tangled.. Good thread...on a different but (somewhat) related subject..does anyone have any idea how many of the retro T-Birds were built?? Also, I like the SSR. Chromer.

UNTRUE! UNTRUE! The statement about NOT liking what we can't afford! Hell, I've loved Lamborghini's, many Italian cars, Vipers, Cobras, Vettes, Prowlers, etc. etc. Whatever looks exotic and drives like a dream, whatever turns heads and I'll never own much more than I have right now--my gorgeous RED 1999 Plymouth Prowler which I feel very honored to possess--or does it possess me? At any rate, a totally bogus statement ...not liking what we can't afford! ------------------ Tytanium-K, Man of Metal -- '99 RED, Mostly Stock!

Ford built 14,506 T-birds in 2003 12,761 built in '04 ....built approx 14,000 in 02' Total T-birds built between '02-04 approx. 40,000. My wife has one and it's nice....Nicer than the Lincoln it's based on....but not as nice as the Mark 10 with retractable hard-top coming out next year. I think the SSR is very nice. I'm not disturbed by the lack of quickness. I never thought pick-up trucks should be racers anyway. I always thought the Lightning/ RT-10, etc. was overkill for having no weight over the rear wheels.

I was watching Car Crazy the other day, and they were interviewing the guy who created the "California Kid." (Famous Flamed hot rod)he said One guy showed up in a rare Ferrarri and didn't get a second look. The same guy came back with a hot rod, and people mobbed him. Exotics are cool, no doubt, but a good ole' american hot rod will draw more attention and envy...at least these day. Trends change of course.

That must have been Pete Chapouris and Jake from So-Cal Speed Shop. Pete is the one who worked with me designing my side panels and then produced the three sets.

BlackTie, Thanks for the numbers on the retro T-Bird run. I'm really amazed they built that many of them. I rarely see one of those birds on the road. Nice to know there's over three times as many T-Birds as Prowlers. Now..if they can just keep building those SSR's??

Within a mile of me there are 4 Prowlers, including mine. There are two Red T-Birds that I see a lot. They both live close.

That must be so cool to have someone so famous do something to your car! Like having Von Dutch pinstripe your car or something....
