I would like to upgrade my speakers only. Is there a better set out there than the stock ones. Or won't changing just the speakers help ? Thanks for your Help ------------------ |

I replaced my speakers with MB Quart (got the complete set from Sound Advice for $250): 1) Dash and rear: DKC 108 3.5" (they fit, but dont fit exactly, I am making a rubber spacer to make them fit perfectly) 2) Door: DKD 116 6.5" (the stock size is 6.75", so I had to add brackets to make them fit correctly) I added a custom 12" speaker box to the trunk, which sounds pretty good and adds much-needed lower frequencies that the stock woofer can't touch. I am replacing it today with a 15" to go for even lower frequencies. My new head unit should be in this week. When it arrives, I will post pics of the complete installation. I forgot to add... the link to these speakers on the MB Quart website is http://www.mbquart.com/mobil/autobahn_coax.htm I also wanted to add that these speakers sound excellent. With a frequency response out to 32,000HZ, the highs are very crisp and clean. |
