I wrote to JetChip to see if they are comming out with a new chip for our car, this is what they sent me: We will be releasing a Power Control Unit in mid to end of Feb. The PCU will splice into the TPS and/or MAP or MAF sensor depending on the application. Average gains are 11-13 on a 4-cyl. and 13-15 on a 6-cyl. Suggested retail is $259.95. For further assistance, contact customer support at 800-535-1161. In California, 714-848-5515. Ross @ JET What do you guys think? |

Way cool for the guys that are going to do slight mods but I really hope we are not being sold some snake oil. The Prowler is making 1.18 hp per cubic inch, that is one of the highest hp to ci rating in the world. But if it is true and you do actually pick up 10 or so hp, that's cheap $25 a horsepower. Some of us are playing $90 to $100 PHP. SCMHFDYWTG ------------------ |

I had emailed Superchips about two weeks ago to find out what needs to be done for production of a chip for the Prowler. I also offered to let them use my car. Here is the response I received: "We do not have anything done for the Prowler yet. I know they need it but we have not done the tuning for that car. It may be some time before we do have one either. Sorry Have a great 2001 ???? So I have tried to get this done and at this point I am not sure I want to have this done now. Maybe after I am finished with some of the other custom engine modifications I am working on. William Gallagher |

I will be happy to help , but if somebody in the DFW area wants to purchase this and come by the shop I'll plug in to this with a DRB3 to see if it has all communications. I agree with Gary C. Hope this isn't some snake oil. neal |

DC are the only manufacturers that uses their own system THAT CAN NOT BE CHIPPED OR HACKED INTO. It is impossible for anyone to hack into the system unless DC will give up the data needed to rework the Brain Box, THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN.

Bill, so you guys think I should wait to test the chip or call them on monday to see what they may do? I don't want it to freeze up the car or something drastic like that. Let me know what you all may recommend. ------------------ 2000 Prowler Woodward Edition (red/black-USA) |

The computer or PCU for the Prowler is a sealed unit. When we want to change something in it we selectively erase the memory and reprogram it , Unlike some of the older cars where we remove the top cover and replaced the prom or chip. This company is probably talking about building a whole new computer for the prowler.May be possible but must be accessible with some kind of generic or Chrysler software. In performance computer's , faster is the key. Should advance cam timing and injector pulse quicker. |

Now you can put a box in front or behind the ecu to fool the settings, Paxton has. |
