I hope y'all don't mind me posting this in this section but we got to brag on this one!! Saturday, Feb 17th: First days results from the Viper/Prowler Weekend are in and the PROWLERS are standing TALL! We had a 9 car turn out, 3 had to cancel at the last minute, and there were about 26 Vipers. First we signed up for the Gull-Wing Go-Kart racing and then hhad the Bar-B-Q lunch. After that the races started and having not done this before, I can tell you now it is a blast... The women had just as much fun as the guys. They had several groups which all did a 10 car, 15 lap race and the top two went to the finals. We placed two Prowler owners in the finals!!! Wayne Taylor and a new owner Smitty Creed were in the finals for us. The finals were to be a 25 lap contest but due to the amount of crashes :-) hehehe (that was the fun part) they dropped it to 15 laps or wee'de still be there. Here is the best news, they had trophies for the first five (5) places and the Prowlers took home two (2) of them! Wayne got forth place and Smitty took 1ST, kicking butt all the way!!!! I have very early pictures posted on our web site at http://www.lordofthelooks.com if you would like to check out Smitty's run, he held them all off at the end. Wayne, who started out in last row worked his way up to the fourth spot and held it too. Next up tomorrow (Sunday, Feb 18th.) Tomorrow we, the Vipers & Prowlers, go up against the Porsche club and the BMW club at the Houston Police Academy driving course in an Autocross. This will be a Team event with the top fifteen times averaged out for each Team and that determines the winner. Wish us all luck in this one. This time we drive our own cars not Go-Karts.... I'd like to thank Hennessey Motorsports, TNT Motorsports, all the other venders who donated prizes besides the trophies. I'd also like to thank the Viper Club of Houston for inviting us to work with them in this great event. The Viper guys were really a great group of people and took the fact of a Prowler taking first and fourth in stride... This is what it is all about, having fun! ------------------ |

I'd like to thank all of you who were able to make part or all of this past weekend. I think you'll agree with me, it was the best $45.00 weekend of fun I've had in a long time. I've talked to Prashant, President of the Viper Club, and we're going to do the Go-Kart thing again with them. I'm waiting for the results of the Autocross, on Sunday, to see which Team won Viper/Prowler or Porsche/BMW.. I thought that sliding those Go-Karts sideways on Saturday was fun but it doesn't compare to brake sliding your Kat into the turn and then powering out again... I may not have had the best times but I had the best time, if you know what I mean. For those who could not make it this weekend, at the Go-Kart event on Saturday, we had Vipers against Prowlers and Vendors, and the Prowlers pulled two trophies out of five with Wayne Wagner, of Conroe, taking fourth place and a new Prowler owner, Creed "Smitty" Smith from Alvin taking First place!!! Pictures from Saturday are posted on my website http://www.lordofthelooks.com under Event #8. Sunday's results for the Prowlers for the Autocross were: Wayne Wagner with a 57.104 sec Ray Bartels with a 57.646 sec Myself with a 59.452 sec Warren Kolar with a 60.213 sec. Mark Powell got there a bit late and registration was closed, thanks for coming Mark. Not bad for people who have never done this before, and you consider that the best times were 49.xxx for a Boxter and a Viper both driven by a driver who has been in this for years. Most all other times were around 53 to 57 seconds for the run for Vipers, vettes, Porsches, Bmers and Camaros. I can now tell you that most all of the other cars were body tilting in the turns, even the Vipers almost touched the ground but the prowlers took all turns flat out... I mean we squared those turns with no tilt at all, I had several of the other car owners tell me they didn't think the Prowlers would do well at all and that they were surprised. I'll be posting more pictures from Saturday which were taken by Warren & Susan Kolar. When I get the Sunday pics I'll get them up also. This weekend was such a success that Prashant, Viper Club president, tells me the Mopar Club has shown an interest now also.. He and I are going to work on getting some more things going. Hope to see those of you who will be at the March event on the 16th, 17, and 18th which the POA is putting on (details are on this website in the Events section).. Oh by the way, I will be setting up the Seabrook/Galveston cruise again this year, more than likely in May sometime. All I know is it won't be in July again... To Hot! Again Thanks to all!!! ------------------ |

Fred, very good results & sounds like a lot of fun... Isn't it amazing how our little "V6" and coolest looking car mfg keeps surprising other car guys. Whose only comment usually is "it shoulda had a V8".... Looking forward to the Sunday pics. Maybe you can bring them the March event... All we may need to do is fine a video recorder.... ------------------ |

WE DID IT!!! The results are in and the Viper/Prowler Team clobbered the Porsche/Bmw Team in Sundays Autocross event in Houston. We could not get the exact figures but from the ones kept by three woman that watched the whole day, it was a wide margin in favor of the visiting Team.. In talking to the Viper Club president today, he said he found that course was re-designed this time to favor the Porsche guys. I too noticed it was not in the configuration that was published prior to Sunday. We did have a few Vipers that spun out into the grass mid-field but we still got them on their home turf... Laddie your correct, they are always suprised when the "cute little car" gets up and scratches 'em up good... Some pictures of the Sunday Autocross are up at http://www.lordofthelooks.com in the Events section and then under Event#8... More still coming in. If you've never done Autocross your missing the thrill of knowing just what your Kat handles like. The Kat takes to autocross like a duck to water.. With the gears in one, it should be even better... ------------------ |
