I've posted a couple messages before about problems I have had with my Prowler. I recently had to file for the lemon law and a Chrysler rep came down today to supervise the work being done on their last attempt. The rental car they provided me was a Chevrolet Metro! This thing doesn't even have power steering. I called the Chrysler lemon law office in Orlando to complain and the person I spoke with was extrememly rude and said "I'm sure you can manage" when I asked for an upgrade. I asked to speak with someone higher than him and a course he said none of them were in the office. They're telling me now that they're going to have my car until at least Thursday because they have to order more parts. Does anyone have a contact at Chrysler that I can talk to that actually cares? Even Ford and GM will give you a decent rental, but Chrysler acts like they're doing me a favor because giving a rental is not something they're required to do. I'm so frustrated I feel like selling the car and just getting something else. Any help is appreciated. |

Too bad about that. Ironic as all get out that they gave you a Chevy. Somebody in that office is sure high...... Try sending CJ a private message. I can't guarantee anything but, she has helped a number of folks (including me) out. Good Luck! |

It is true that it is a service they provide as a courtesy, but not a requirement. Be greatful for the transportation and keep your eye on what is at the center of your problems, your Kat. Get that fixed or replaced and be happy. Until then, drive the Metro like you stole it and enjoy! |

You'd think they'd be a little nicer to someone who has had to take their car in 5 times for the same problems on a 40k dollar car. I will NEVER buy another Chrysler again. |

Doppler, that stinks. I hate to see anyone getting that kind of treatment. The bad part is Bob and CJ are probably enroute home from NY so it may be a day or two until she sees it. Hopefully someone will come up with a phone number. Are you calling the number in the back of the owner's manual? Good luck in the next few days. |

They probably put you in a Metro so that you would appreciate your prowler regardless of the problems you've had. What a way to foster loyalty to a product ! |

I too had to have my 1st Orange lemon lawed. It was NOT Chrysler's fault, but the dealer. It took me 6 MONTHS, but I finally got a new Orange out of it... and to me, it was well worth the wait. I didn't even get a replacement of any type during this wait period either. It was still worth it to get a good car... even the best manufacturer can have a problem, and often it's the dealers fault not theirs. Dealers are NOT equal! ------------------ |

Good luck with getting your Prowler fixed....I hope all goes well. In the meantime, I would beat the living heck out of that rental! See if you can get it on two wheels! Seriously, I am shocked at the variety of treatment you get from dealer to dealer. It's experiences like yours and Todd's that make me nervous to have this as my sole daily driver. Am I nuts for that? |

quote: It's not only dealer to dealer, it can be the same dealer dealing with different customers. A district rep said they would replace my top since I had only 200 miles on the car. That same rep told Terri that she was out of luck with a ripped top at 1500 miles. Once a number of people got involved, that rep came around and I think Terri got a new one but, she (the rep) apparantly is a real pistol to have to deal with. My service manager told me she was looking for any possible way to not allow my repair and spent 2-3 hours pouring over the top with his help. As with any business, there are good and bad, seek out the good ones and don't cause a huge rukus with the bad ones and you'll do o.k. (it just may take a little while and alot of patience) |

I really appreciate all the replies. I received a call from the dealer today saying they have repaired everything except the rattling dash. Are they deaf? So I have to take a test drive with the tech tomorrow. What's funny is that they told me to come after 12pm for the test drive because the Chrysler rep already has another test drive he's doing for another lemon law case. I can't believe they told me that. What a great company. Hopefully everything will turn out well...driving the Metro REALLY does make me appreciate the Prowler more than ever. Also, when I pulled the emergency brake in the Metro and floored it, the car actually starting going. Guess someone already ragged out the car before I had a chance. |

quote: yep.. it took some yelling before they agreed to fix our top. It still hasn't been repaired yet. They just got the bows in a few weeks ago. My husband wants to be with the car while the top is replaced. It has been raining so much here we haven't taken it in yet. The dealer is a little ticked that we haven't brought the car in yet - he thinks it's crazy that we won't bring the car if it's raining. HELLO..... there are holes in the top. Not to mention we don't drive this car especially not in the rain. |

Guess who went to pick up their car only to find out it STILL wasn't fixed? I never knew fixing a stereo could be so difficult. They think they may have it fixed by Monday. If I get it Monday, they will have had my car 11 days. Pretty ridiculous, huh? |
