I have been following thread on extended warranties...can these only be obtained if the original warranty is still in effect? Are warranties available for AFTER the original warranty expires? (My '99 Red has 28,000 miles but is almost 4 years old...) |

I dont think you can get a offical Chrysler extended warranty. There might be a freelance company that would except it. But I dont think that would be a good idea. I had a friend that got one outside the Manufacture, and he had to fight with them any time he needed anything covered. My 2 cents worth. ------------------ 94' Mustang Cobra(Power Trip) 00' Trans Am WS6 Ram Air(FOR SALE!) 02' Excursion 4x2 Diesel(Our Beast!) |

Bob, I purchased a zero deductible 7/70 from Warranty Gold. Had to use it once so far and there were absolutely no problems. I think I paid around 1500. They will negotiate www.warrantygold.com |

I've been considering Warranty Gold myself. Anyone else have any claim stories to tell? I'm just a little leary about a non-Chrysler warranty. This message has been edited by DublinOH on 01-26-2003 at 04:29 PM |

www.exoticwarranty.com (Disclaimer: This is my company) We sell warranties after the manufacturers expires. The coverage goes up to 10 years / 120,000 miles and additional coverage beyond that year/mile mark as well. The warranties for Prowlers are fairly inexpensive mainly because it uses standard Mopar parts. The company is currently in the licensing phases (regulated by the Department of Insurance). Our license is on its way to us and we expect to be open for business 2/3/03. If you have any questions before, feel free to contact me at 585-749-3338. Our offer to you is to find whatever warranty you like and we'll pricematch plus an additional $100 off. On a side note, do any of the veterans here know who to contact to about sponsoring ProwlerOnline? Cordially, -Ben |

Oh -- On the note about being leary of a non-Chrysler warranty. Factory extended warranties are nice by name, however typically exclude a lot of items in their coverage. More than just maintenance items will be excluded. With a non-factory warranty, you can expect better coverage, and at least with ours, your other items such as superchargers and other mods would actually be covered for normal use. You also may not have a choice with the Chrysler warranty to use a non-Chrysler facility to do the repairs limiting your options if you are out of town, or far from a dealer. That, and they are typically a bit too expensive to begin with. Cordially, -Ben |
