The Worlds Fastest Naturally Aspirated Prowler... Ran last evening at The Legendary Great Lakes Dragway. This was the first trial run of the Westech 302 (5L) stroker. Jim Daley from Westech was our driver and achieved a 12.701 quarter mile. The run was done with a roll bar and top down! We are shooting for high 11's naturally aspirated and low 10's with nitrous. 60' 1.702 These are real track numbers and not corrected for altitude or barometric pressures! Hats off to all those involed including Norm Brandes & Jim Daley at Westech Automotive, Bob Longstreth, and Marty Usher for real world testing of the Westech stroker engine! George Dean will also have some awesome numbers soon with his Westech 300M. ------------------ |

CONGRATULATIONS MIKE & Krehel Racing You just gave us all more bragging rights... Great numbers too! Don't forget to thank Morgan the Westech Pooch! He kept tabs of all the parts & made sure everything went together fine. I will be sure to send you the photos I took at Westech when we passed through on our way to the Wisconsin Dells event.

Cool - when I took my little ride around the Wisconsin countryside in it last week (Bob L. - we avoided the infamous speed trap ) I could "feel" it had so much more torque than mine but running 12's Naturally Aspirated is just too cool - and that is with STOCK GEARS becasue Norm never took mine out of my car to try them since I had to leave in a hurry. The polished roll bar and five point harness give it a "race" look also! |

Stock gears? You bet, gotta keep it in third gear through the quarter to avoid the deadly 3 - 4 shift. |

Bob - now we know what you have been waiting for - not a 4.0, or a 4.3, but a 302 Cubic Inch engine for CJ! You just have to decide if you put it in the black, the candy or buy another Prowler for it! |

Marty, You're correct about the waiting for the ultimate combination. Any one of the three is a real step up but choice is typically based upon budget, hence a choice for all tastes. With Paxton no longer making their supercharger kit and more of the cars moving out of warranty coverage, timing couldn't be better. Thanks to Mike, you and George Dean for living through the development process. I was sitting on the side lines waiting for the appropriate time. With no substitute for cubic inches, how fast do you want to go. Add the price of your Prowler and the most expensive Westech installation together and you'd still have money in the bank compared to a Viper and you could regularly kick its butt. Do you really think for even a moment that there's a choice of which one? Its which one first. Maybe I could trade the Rambler for a pair? Guess there's no time like the present to extend our thanks to Norm, Jim and the rest of the Westech staff for their efforts over just about two years on our behalf. Norm was beyond meticulous in his research and always very friendly, informative, patient and helpful. My plans changed midway from a normally aspirated build to a turbo build forcing piston, camming, and other changes and he took it in stride and got it done without a single negative sentiment. He's an amazing man and automotive engineer. Our thanks also to Mike Krehel. During the companioned development of our engines he provided his Prowler as the testbed for the initial run-in, driving, dynoing, and track testing of our engine which was gracious and giving beyond anything we'd hope from anyone. And thanks also to Marty and Bob (RPL) for the important roles they played in setting the stage for and supporting Norm and Westech's engine development all along the way. We've been seeing through the engine and other developments since 2003 and are looking forward to bringing it all together over the Winter so the real fun can begin in 2006. With a new 26' trailer now on hand Jackie and I hope to finally make it down to No Promise to run with the best and return a favor to Laddie for making it up to our event at Raceway Park Englishtown last year.
