![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I am looking for some input on a possible new product. The part, as shown in the pictures, goes behind the custom grills, including mine, that you can see through. It will work with any grill out there. It is made of 18 gauge steel, and covers the frame and helps hide the battery. The part could be made available un-finished or with black power coating. The only problem is that the part requires the drilling and taping of two(1/4"-20)holes and 1 hole, 1/4", for mounting the air bag sensor, into the frame. The cost will be determined by volume. I would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks Gary ![]() ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Gary, i dont think that's an Air Bag Sensor, it looks like the Ambient Air Sensor for the Air Conditioner (relocation is less critical). How does the shield effect Cooling? Did you notice any additional temp rise? Especially with your new Grill? Buddy |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Yes, I am wondering about the heat issue. The item if done in black mesh may look as good and give better pass through. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The new part is not in front of the radiator at all. It only covers aluminum frame parts. The diamond mesh is about 70% flow. It is about the same as the TGF grill which has been out there for a very long time without any heat problems. ------------------ |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Gary that sounds like a great idea. The only thing I never liked about after market grills was that too much of the inside was visible. This would eliminate that. Thanks for keeping the after-market parts flowing as we have few choices. ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I have seen this cover in person when Gary was first working on it last year. When installed it should not block any of the air flow, and does dress up the front end. Nice to see you still working on getting more products Gary. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Looks great Gary. Gives me an idea to modify my frame cover. If I didn't have one already this would be perfect for behind our Real Rod grille. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I am not sure where the suspension brace crosses over at. If it is in front of the battery it may be a problem. If you can post a picture I can tell you right away. ------------------ |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Gary, Nice to see this coming to market. I saw your prototype at CFC last year and wanted one instantly. Count me in. I will need to modify it due to the clamps for the Real Rod Body Protectors. Thanks, |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The sensor show is the ambient air temp. sensor for trip computer in the mirror. Air bag inertia sensors are mounted on the aluminum frame just below the front corners of the battery behind the curved edges of frame. Great idea and I think my bug screen would stretch in front of it also. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() its blocking the airflow.these cars need all the air they can get. ------------------ |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() doesn't look like it's blocking any more air than the stock frame and the battery already do. I'll have to look for aphoto of the stock front end with the grill out to compare. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Maybe the way to make one of these covers is to design it so that the air will flow up and over the battery and right into the radiator. The restricting of the flow just a little by upflowing over the battery may create a faster airflow and possibly cooling better? Just my 2 cents...

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I want to assure everyone that this new part does not restrict the air flow in any way. The new part only covers the lower frame parts and has a small deflector to shield the view of the battery. I want to thank everyone for their comments. The decision to fabricate this part will be determined by demand. I will not be able to fabricate a small quantity, such as 10. To be able to keep the cost down I would like to make at least 25. The after market part business for the Prowler is declining and as a result I will have to be careful not to make something that is not in demand. As things currently stand I am considering the elimination of some of my product line due to manufacture cost and a large drop off in demand. I am going ahead and establish a price for a quantity of 25 and 50. As soon as I have the information I will post it. Again thanks for you comments. ------------------ |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I have had a chance to determine the production cost and a fair market price. The part, I have titled a Front Frame Cover, would sell for $34.95. It would come black power coated, with all necessary mounting hardware. I expect a very limited demand, so I don't plan on making much, if anything from it. It will be a big plus for my custom grills though. I have said before I believe it will work with all the custom grills currently out there. I would appreciate yours comments. Also if you have not checked out my new Diamond Grill, do so. It fits super and looks great. ------------------ |
