I had a very interesting day today. I was a guest of my Uncle with the Buick Club of Central Ohio at their meet at the Transportation Research Center near the Honda plant in Marysville, Ohio. This is the place:

TRC Ohio

They allowed us two laps on the 7.5 mile test track. Unfortunately they forbid cameras and cell phones (very stern warning prior to arriving) as I wish I had a picture of me doing 115 MPH on the concave banked curve that was about 1 mile long. To be honest, I had never driven any car that fast. The concave banking makes the car stick and you can actually drive without touching the steering wheel!

What was intersting (and set my mind at ease) was that our pace vehicle was a 15 passenger full sized Chevy van! Seeing it do about 120 MPH was weird but assured me that if that thing could do it (50 + year old woman driving it) the Kat could.

BTW, over 100 MPH these things are LOUD!

You were very lucky to be able to drive on this test track. Liability issues keep most people off many private test tracks. You will remember this treat for ever!

Top was up since it was a little cool and intermittent rain today. Top down would have been a real rush!
