I wanted to see if anyone else who owns one has had it happen to them. I thought I had the pins all the way in when I left home but after about 3 miles and a few bumps in the road it came out and went flying onto the road behind me. Scrapped it all up but I can get it repaired for about $380.00. I rechecked the pins and one looked like it was not set as deep as the other so I re-adjusted it. I have the pins set on the inside next to the seats which I think is where they are suppose to go, am I correct on that? I was happy that it flew off enough so it missed the trunk lid all together so no damage there. I know from now on I will give it 2 or 3 good yanks to make sure it is secure in the holes and the pins are locked in. Any suggestions would help. Phil - its critical that you hear both pins "snap" into place,,,,,,then take your hand and pull up on it to be sure it isn't loose and won't pop out. Sorry to hear about your bad experience,,,,,hope it can be repaired or no damage came to it. |

I know another one that has come of, except she wasn't so lucky, done some damage to the truck lid when it came off. |

MY AIR PATROL FLEW OFF AND LUCKILY IT DIDN'T TOUCH THE TRUNK, I TOOK IT TO A BODY SHOP AND IT COST $154.00 AND IT CAME OUT JUST LIKE NEW, I FORGOT TO SNAP IT INTO PLACE THAT IS WHY IT FELL OFF, WHEN YOU PUT IT ON PULL UP ON IT TO MAKE SURE IT'S LOCKED IN JUST A SMALL LESSON I LEARNED. Mine came off while stopping and clunked me in the back of the head. http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/Forum9/HTML/002048.html Using loctite on the pins solved that problem. |

It is a good thing to check your pins as they do come lose after a bite.Or use locktite. This is the first year I've heard of so many falling off,Must be there are a lot of them out there. Please use care as Air Patrols look very cool they are now a flying object's. ------------------ |

I'll get the lock tight on it when I get it back from the body shop. And thanks AC, I'll do that double check from now on. |
