We are fairly new members and just got our 2000 RED Prowler from Ft Myers FL. The car is very low mileage and perfect in every way except for the wheels. I have been reading about the challenges with the stock wheels and ours also has flaking, pits and oxidation just inside the spokes on the back of the wheels. I see that rechroming these can be pretty expensive and past experience tells me that once the wheels have dereriorated that much, rechromed wheels may do the same thing fairly soon. Have others had theirs rechromed with long term success? And what other types of wheels have been successfully changed and what were the challenges. Do you lose the low pressure indicator? Any pictures of other options would be appreciated. Thanks Tennessee Cat |

Torque Thrust wheels available form RealRod. They come in same sizes with the spokes polished also. The sensors would not fit in the hole cut for the valve stem and I chose not to alter the wheels - I just put black tape over the light on the dash. I intended to change the wheels so the sensors would fit but the new wheels have been on the car for 75,000 miles. : |

These are custom one-off wheels by Colorado Customs that were done for the CA Kid Prowler. Right now, they don't have the wheels sensors on, though Bob says they can be put back on. |
