About a month ago, I submitted a proposal to a number of people at DC asking for their help in making my Anniversary / Dream Cruise event a special one for the Prowler owners who would be attending. As we all know, support for the Prowler community has been minimal over the last 10 years; however, we never really asked for anything on a large scale either. Craig Love, currently VP of Rear Wheel Drive Engineering, was the head Engineer on Prowler and he owns a Yellow Prowler (by the way, he is 6' 6" tall). He responded to my proposal saying "Just a note to let you know I got your letter/proposal (I like it and am interested) and am looking into it." This was great news!! A short time later, he told me he was "forming a Team Prowler alumni party planning contingent to work with you in fleshing out the event." Yesterday, we met with Craig and the team he put together. I cannot even begin to describe how excited I am about this. We had a great meeting and this is going to be beyond my wildest hopes for DC's support of this event. I walked out of the meeting yesterday absolutely stunned by what I heard!!! They are very pleased about this event, as it will be a reunion party for Team Prowler, also!! The Prowler Team members are still as passionate about the car now as they were then. This was our first meeting and there will be many more in the weeks to come. They have so many ideas about what they want to do, I am overwhelmed! I'm not going to spill the beans about everything, but I will let you in on the basic premise of what they are thinking. The anniversary celebration will be held on Thursday, August 16 at the Walter P. Chrysler Museum (located on the grounds of Chrysler headquarters). We have decided that the event will be held in the evening (time to be determined) after the Museum is closed to the public. If any of you remember the Black Tie and Black Tee parties, it will be similar to this, but specific to Prowler only. 1. They are thinking of doing the party as a Diner/Cruise-In theme with a barbeque type menu for food. Beer included!!! 2. The parking lots will be used as the cruise-in area with some special Prowlers chosen to be parked in the front courtyard area. 3. There will be speech and video presentations about the history and development of Prowler, etc. 4. They have a whole list of people they plan to invite who were involved with the concept and development of Prowler. We hope to have some very special people there that you will be thrilled to meet and talk with about Prowler. 5. There will be goodie bags with some cool stuff and they are even thinking about an auction for charity. There are lots of wheels turning with some great ideas we hope to implement and as soon as details are finalized, I'll keep you updated. I can't even begin to tell you how cool this party is going to be. If you are attending, please try to be there before Thursday. If you hadn't planned on attending, you might want to re-consider. This celebration is an opportunity that you shouldn't pass up. I am very pleased with the number of cars already registered, but it would be awesome if we could have an even bigger showing!! The Prowler Team members are very excited to meet with the owners. They have lots of stories to tell you about the development of Prowler and they are even more excited to see what the owners have done to their Prowlers!! They plan to be partying right along with us. I don't know who is more excited about this....me or them!!! They were very happy that I approached them about this celebration; as I said, it will be a reunion for them, too! The best is yet to come!!!! |

CJ you are the BEST! This is going to be one fantastic event that will be remembered by all attendees forever! I am so pleased that management was able to pull this together, considering the 'recent events' within the company. RPL is one lucky husband! The 16th coincides with the 'Cruise Night' which runs from 6-9pm, so my guess is our event will start at 9:00pm. |

Very cool CJ!!! Thank you for all you've done to bring this about. A couple questions... You referenced the black tie party years ago. I heard that was a black tie affair. Those coming will need to know how to pack... suit/tux/dress/casual/etc. I'm sure you will keep us informed. Also, since this was mentioned in another thread already, you mentioned a "painter" would be attending to do a little touch up work. (Trying here to be as discrete as possible...) Will this be only certain original colors getting touched up? |

quote: Mickey the event was celebrating the Black Tie Prowler and did not refer to attire. The attire was casual in fact many people dressed in 50's attire. Including wigs. |

Mickey....... The Black Tie party was held to introduce the Black Tie Edition Prowler. As Rich stated, it was a very casual party, 50's attire, anything you wanted! This party and this entire event is CASUAL, CASUAL, CASUAL....even the dinner banquet Saturday night. Yes, Dr. Ru will be there on Thursday to do pinstriping, etc. He will do whatever you want (if he can) on any cat, no matter what color. He can do touch-up on the ones that already have his pinstriping, pinstriping on any car that wants it! |

We will TRY to make it even though I don't like crowds. It sounds like you hit a home run on this one. It will be cool to see the workers' and planners' reactions to some of the rides. |
