Finally washed my Prowler Saturday and finished cleaning it out then Susan and I drove to Majestic Park close to our house. She did some more drawings and I played on the laptop getting all the pictures together to post tonight and she asked if I thought the Prowlers would ever come to Colorado for a event.. I said that they were all ready here sometime back and wasn't sure if they would come again. I told her I would ask if there was any interest in 2009 or 2010 for a event here in Colorado. So that's what I'm doing so please respond just to get a feel on people that will or may attend.. The biggest event that I have done since Philip gave me the leadership spot and I then split it three ways and now is run by the Three Stooges was 12 cars.. That doesn't even hold a candle to the event in Tulsa. If it did come to Colorado I would need some outside help like in Tulsa, because a Super Job was done. So I am opening it up for offers for help in running the show setting it up and a list of people that would possibly attend... Anyone out there interested? There Is No Place Like Home, My Home Colorado... thanks onecatnodog... This message has been edited by onecatnodog on 06-26-2007 at 06:23 PM |

Two thumbs up for Colorado!!! For those of you who have never been there.....You gotta go!...Pictures can't even begin to show it's beauty.... .....Aspen via Independence Pass (closed in the Winter so you can imagine what it's like), the gravel "back road" built by convicts decades ago through Rockie Mountain Nat'l Park,...Estes Park and the beautiful hotel on the side of the mountain (Stephen King's "The Shining" was filmed there)....The old "downtown" of Boulder with it's cobblestone streets and sitting under a street lamp while enjoying the street entertainers on warm summer nights ...Whitewater rafting...Crisp, clear mornings in the mountains and sky so blue that it hurts your eyes to look at it....snowball fights in July at what seems to be the top of the world.....Royal Gorge and Pikes Peak...Ghost towns with old saloons....The Air Force Academy and herds of buffalo grazing on the plains....(just to mention a few of the things I remember most about Colorado)... Not to mention, some of the nicest people you'll ever meet....Sign me up!!! This message has been edited by bjprowler on 06-24-2007 at 09:13 PM |

John >> if you build it [a plan],,,,they will come! Colorado is probably the absolute best state in the country for cruising these cars! Don't worry about event planning help,,,,there will be many who will help you with it. Phil and the rest of the Colorado Prowler Trash can help you. Marc, Chromer, will add their input to you,,,,,you'll [Susan and you] will just have to carry out the overseeing of the finished plan. Many will attend,,,,,probably much larger than the Tulsa event. We can bury Marc in an unmarked grave near Estes Park,,,,,and draw up clues to find him First,,,,,we just need to establish a year,,,,commit yourself to be the Event Coordinator,,,,,and then ask the membership for suggestions/places of interest to see. Many of us out-of-staters will help you every way we can. We have faith in Susan and you, that you'll be able to pull off the plans,,,and provide an excellent national event for our owners [you came highly recommended by Freeze and Sno]......... Regards, |

One OLD dog, no cat. Establish a date. Post it saying you ARE having an event. Get a hotel lined up. Tell them what you need. Start making plans. You will get some immediate hits and then it will go dead for awhile. All of a sudden folks will "discover" it is starting to sneak up on them and it will take off again. So don't panic when you don't have it filled the first month. I would think you will have 100 or so, no problem. DON'T try to do too much. Don't have a scenic cruise the first day or so. We will be wore out from getting there. Start it on a Sat. or Sunday and have it run until the next Friday or even Saturday. Plenty of folks will offer to help out. You have to take charge and let a bunch of others do one or two things with you overseeing the entire picture. Try to keep it laid back with some sight seeing and not going to some tourist trap places. Scenic roads up the mountains and thru the valleys along the creeks. Last time we went to the Bar-B-Q joint that has singing cowboys. Flying W Ranch. That was pretty cool. I have been there a few times. They can handle the crowd and it is entertaining and a nice ride. We will be there. |

2008 I have a Class Reunion in Illinois. I graduated in 1976 and that year class has never had a reunion. Well they will now because I'm making it happen and will be using my two week vacation to do so. I was hoping that the Prowler Event would be close to Illinois and that I could kill two birds with one stone or at least drop by and say hi to everyone. But it looks like that's not going to happen. I am thinking that to have a Prowler Event here in Colorado would take my two weeks vacation and then some by the time it was planed and executed and I would like to have the time off to enjoy it along with the others. I'm still a working man and probably always will be until I die, and the Prowler and it's people sure have spiced up my life along with the sites to go to and chat with friends and check out these cars... PROWLERS ROCK ... If your in Boulder in 2008 look up the Colorado Prowler Club and we will do like we do with Sno and Mrs. Freeze when they come to town.. Thanks, John(onecatnodog)Collins This message has been edited by onecatnodog on 06-24-2007 at 10:34 PM |

Marc, AC, the Hackers, Reba & I, Bob Goetz, my friend Wayne (Mustang), who else was with us on the canyon run??? I'll have to look at the photos in our office when I get home. Marc kept scaring the people on the sport motorcycles in front of him that wouldn't get through the turns as quickly as he was going! |
