On 'My Classic Car' aired July 12th on 'Speed TV', Jay Leno told Dennis Gage "the difference between owning an open roadster vs. a Corvette Z06 is.....when driving 100mph in a Z06 you feel like your your doing 60mph AND when your doing 60mph in an open roadster you FEEL LIKE YOUR DOING 100mph"! Isn't that the truth Guys?? Wow...did he hit the nail on the head? Plus the Prowler seats are so much more comfortable than Corvette/Z06 seats. NOTHING TURNS HEADS LIKE A PROWLER!!! I HAVE HAD THE PLEASURE OF JUST LEARNING THIS IN THE PAST 4 MONTHS.....so glad I opted for the Prowler instead of the Z06.......doing my home-work beforehand has PAID OFF!! Now you know I am a 'newbie'. I've learned so much about the Prowler from all you folks on the POA site.....GREAT PEOPLE!! Let's hear your opinions and stories why you're so happy with your CAT!!!!

He did forget one other tiny little difference.

While driving most any convertible in the rain (top up or down)you will likely experience a free shower.
This of course is not news to anyone that has had convertibles over the years. I carry a towel in all of mine since they tend to leak the most at the wrong times.

I have wanted a Corvette since I was a teenager in the late sixties but never got around to actually buying one. Close but never found the right deal at the right time....
Then the Prowler was introduced and I really liked it, now that I own one, the Corvette may never happen for me.

I am really excited to own the Prowler I have and just may need to go find a second one.

Another really big benefit to the Prowler are the people that own and drive them. I have never met a better group of people who are willing to help out the other owners regardless of the circumstances.

The only downside is that it is difficult to go anywhere without being noticed by almost everybody.

I must agree, From first hand experience. My ZO6 is a different kind of fun. And a great stress reliever. Entrance and exit ramps are a nice cause of smiles and a good way to start the day. It is my daily driver. On the other hand my Woodward Edition just loves stoplights. Usually alot of "thumbs up". The open air is truly special, especially when it is dark. It brings nothing but positive comments from all ages. However, If I absolutely had to the Corvette would go first.

As a relativly new owner of a Prowler (Dec. 99 Red 1200 miles) I am amazed at the interest and looks of passerbys. Real story. We were driving thru town and an ole guy with a walker was going across the street. When he got to the other side he turned and gave us a thumbs up. Keep in mind my wife & I celebrated our 40th yesterday. When we go to the local show & shine we get as much if not more attention than the "real" rods. Having a Prowler is "fun"

I wasn't able to put "NO HUSBAND" on my tags as we can only have seven spaces so I opted for "PROWLER".
In retrospect I guess I could have gone with "NOHUBBY" huh
Even with it spelled out on the tags, I still get people asking me what kind of car it is.
I think I gonna have to start telling them it is a DeLorean and I'm back from the future!

Having owned 5 Vettes over the yrs. including a ZO6, I'm still fascinated with how many heads turn when I'm in my Kat. NONE of the Vettes combined have even come close to the attention Prowlers receive. I'm glad I kept my Kat, through all the crap I've been through this past yr., It's always a breath of fresh air to get in it and cruise.

Good luck with yours'

Randy

I am, by some peoples standards, too old to own a Prowler. I have owned MG TC's, Jag XK 120, '65 Corvette 966cu in, 425 hp, a '72 vette 454 and a few others over the years including a few flathead Fords. When I realized how hard it was to maintain my of Ford truck for 40 years, I decided to purchase a hot rod with a 7year bumper to bumper warranty. The Prowler was the only way to go to have the best of both worlds. Having owned the Prowler now for over 7 years, I still get excited about going out, enjoying the excitement of the drive and the attention it gets. It still looks brand new. I expect to be a kid forever.

You are not an "Old" Prowler owner, just a well seasoned one.

Next time we go cruisin, you get Mom. I think I scared her last time out.

I have also had a huge number of cars including vets, but love the entirely different look of the Prowler. I tell folks at car shows that it is my dependable 32 roadster. Those with real Hot Rods know what I mean.
