Thank you everyone for helping with this issue. I was able to talk the service department into making a fair deal to replace the oil pan without it costing much. I will also buy the recommended OilDrain Valve to prevent this from happening again. FYI they did not have to drop the engine to replace the pan, just remove a cross-member.

I felt compelled to update this post, as the OilDrainValve I bought for the Prowler just over 2 years ago is now leaking, even when closed. I have not had the dealership change the oil more than twice since the valve was placed. The dealership assures me that the threads on the pan do not appear to be leaking now. As the website for the OilDrainValve indicates (www.oildrainvalve.net/), these valves are supposed to come with a "Lifetime Warranty". For the $36 cost, I certainly hope so. I have requested a remedy or replacement valve to address the matter, and will keep this thread updated about the results of my inquiry.

This is why I always change my own oil. At least if the oil pan needs changing, there is no cross member to deal with. Have never had a stripped one yet. They over tighten them and stretch the threads as they are afraid it would come loose. The person who removes the plug the next time has to try & remove the plug after threads have been damaged and it usually does not turn out well.
