My 1999 Prowler gives a very hard ride. Every pebble, crack, bump in road transfers to seat. Feels like I'm riding on square tires and sitting on a brick. Is this normal? Any help is appreciated. Ed THANKS FOR ALL THE REPLYS. HAVE TO DECIDE WHAT TO DO. This message has been edited by Topgun on 06-21-2011 at 06:28 AM |

The 97's and the 99's do have a stiffer ride than later years. One of the solutions is to dump the run-flats for regular tires. A bunch of us have done that. |

The run flats are MUCH harsher. I have two Prowlers, '01 and '02. One has run flats and the other has non runflats. Day and night difference. |

Wonder Bar really helped mine. I still have "run flats" and expect a harder ride. Remember, it is a "hot rod" and probably rides better than a true "home built" hot rod. |

All of the above. Get some nice SOFTER tires, run no more than 30 lbs of air, get a front upper shock brace made up and you will be a happy camper |

I am no expert on tires but look at the size of those tires and the weight of the car. Next look at that big SUV and it is probably suppose to run the same air pressure as the Prowler. I say a couple of pounds wouldn't matter that much unless you are doing some aggressive driving and it might affect your gas mileage slightly. The real answer is you should always run the pressure on the sticker on the door frame or wherever it is located. This is the politically correct answer! |

2900 lbs! 29-31 lbs of air will be no problem and it LIKES it |
