if your reg breaks, leave it as is,donot try to get it to roll up,it will only make the jammed situation worse, under no cirmcumstance try to move the glass with the window button.once the dr trim panel is off,try to pry the window up to get the slack in the cable back in place, prying up on the rr while pushing the window button up will help.rollit up far enough to see the 2 torx head bolts in the rr access hole.when the plastic cable breaks the inner screw trys to push the break apart, causing it to jam. ------------------ |

Carfish, I am not arguing with you. Your first sentence says to not use the button under any circumstances. Then you say a little later to use the button. You need to clarify what you mean on that one. it is confusing. |

i thought it was pretty clear.once it breaks do not try to move the glass up or down.once the trim panel is off you will have to move it up to access the 2 bolts to remove the glass.ive never had it happen,if glass wont move, you will have to use a holesaw to drill 2 new access holes lower towards inside of dr,inline with the 2 removal bolts. easier yet dont worry about it,take a hammer to the glass and it will no longer be in the way. ------------------ This message has been edited by catfish on 06-28-2011 at 10:20 PM |

Last August, our driver's side window reg broke and froze the glass in place ,,with the window about 2/3's way up. There was no way the window would move, either up or down. Once I got the door panel off and slightly loosened a few nuts ever so lightly,,,I was able to move the window to full up and down with the button and guiding the glass with my fingers on the top of glass. Proceeded to install the Tom Mills replacement unit, which is far superior to the P-O-C OEM unit. Out of seven failed OEM regulators in three cars,,,,that was the first one where the glass actually froze in place, and couldn't be moved either way. |

We will be taking our Prowler on it's first trip in July and I told my wife about the window problem the Prowlers have. She is planning on taking some duct tape and plastic just in case. It's a shame people have had to put up with such bad products, no wonder people shy away from Chrysler products like the plague. The last time I saw a rating in Consumers Report Chrysler and Suzuki were at the bottom of the list of reliability. |

if that part had been made out of metal it would have lasted forever.there are alot of crap plastic window regs out there on all of the cars manufactured these days.my 26 yr.old dodge truck at 244.000 miles has steel and there still working. ------------------ |

I can confirm what was stated above,,,,lots of crappy, junk, window regulators are made for many manufacturers. Arvin-Meritor, and other supplying vendors, should be ashamed of the POS products they make. |
