I knew the 97 had a problem but thought I could get it fixed as Chrysler did come up with a fix for the 97/99 models with that problem. However I've bought parts that are supposed to be the "fix" from two sources and ended up returning them. Dealer can't get the parts either so I kind of gave up on the 97. I assumed the problem would have been corrected by 2001 but to my dismay the 2001 is worse. Cannot figure out what the problem is. I suspect that Chrysler never really did get the problem corrected and some of the available Prowlers are being sold for that very reason. As much as I like my two Prowlers, the gas volume is something that really frustrates me.

Try finding a gas station where the car is leaning down away from the pump and the nose pointing down hill as well. You may be able to get more gas in. It works for me. I learned this tip from Wildcat.

I agree with BeWare. I always used to go to the same station. It was on a slight grade and I could fill if the car was pointed west in the station but if I came in from the west, I couldn't get it to fill.
Also, you may not be as close to empty as you think. My computer in the mirror drops quickly to 27 miles to go but I can drive another 50 miles easily after that.

I had the same fill problem when we were at Pigeon Forge. I went to a different station and all went well. Never had the problem again.

I filled up yesterday after driving 190 miles. I had 1/4 of a gallon left by what it took to fill up so that was less than 5 more miles before eroy.
