I have owned several sports cars, Corvettes, Porsche, as well as a prowler and have stored them for extended periods on a two post lift with nary a problem. This topic comes up on every discussion board. Same for the two vrs four post lift. I had a 4 post lift, but prefer a 2 post. A lot of comments come from folks that own neither. There are benefits to each lift. By the way, my last craftsman mower lasted 13 years. All 1st world problems my friends.

I would have preferred a 2 post as well. But I could not find a 2 post that would lift the vehicle high enough. The four post I installed is the tallest and widest single car lift I could find that fit my needs.

Landy How high are the ceilings where your lift installed? I'm finishing up on a new garage and am going with 12 foot high ceiling.

12'11". Used full 2x6x12's, double bottom and top sills, 5" of foundation above floor. 2x6" are 12" oc with 24" I joists 12" oc for the ceiling/attic floor.
Garage is 30' x 50'.

If you just have cars and no big trucks 12' is perfect.
