OK, working on installing my lift. How much do you guys think the suspension will sag when on a side post lift? I am thinking no more than 10" and at that I think it is a bit much. I need to put a trailer under the Prowler when it is on the lift. This message has been edited by Landscape Doctor on 11-07-2015 at 08:12 PM |

quote: I will clarify. When the Prowler is not in use I will be putting it on a lift because space is at a premium. A landscape trailer with a drop gate and equipment on it will be going under the Prowler. When the Prowler is on the lift the suspension will obviously sag because it will be lifted from the sides. There is a limited amount of space between the top of the trailer gate and the tires of the Prowler. How much does the suspension sag??? Why not get the full lift that supports all four wheels |

I have never measured the suspension travel of the prowler but I just put MW new wheels and tires on last week and I would say closer to five than ten inches. |

Well looks like I am going to modify the lift 8"taller, if my math is correct that should give me 8"-10" between the trailer gate and the tires. Close call. |

Modify the trailer gate and use ramps on the trailer. To modify a lift would scare the "poop" out of me. |

It is definitely not a good idea to leave any car in the raised position on a two post lift long term. All the suspension bushings will be twisted to the full extended condition. Sell the lift now and spend the money on the right tool for the job. I'll bet you don't cut lawn with a Sears riding mower. This message has been edited by MDProwler on 09-01-2014 at 07:01 PM |

It's not that you can't but you shouldn't. If you screw up the bushings on the suspension a arms by leaving it up all winter the fix will cost more then the right lift. Can you put the trailer on the lift and the cat under it. I think the Prowler is about 50" to the top edge of the windshield. |

quote: Can't you back the trailer under with the gate down and then put it back up once you clear the wheels? The prowler isn't very long. Less than 13 feet if I remember correctly. Another thing you can do is take the wheels off the prowler when it's up in the air. You won't have any problem with the suspension on a 2 post. It's also a good opportunity to detail the wheels and other hard to get at parts, calipers etc when the wheels are off. This message has been edited by beachcat on 09-01-2014 at 09:12 PM |

Went to see a friend that has the same lift I was going to install. The lift only raises 68", to low for what I am planning on doing. I guess I am going with a four post lift. I need a wider and taller than normal one so that puts a kink in things. Probably going to purchase a 12k lb lift so I can lift 1 ton dumps also. Any recommendations on manufacturer? |
