I MIGHT have found a place that will produce the longer hardtop pins. They will NOT be stainless steel. They kept the pin and will let me know if they will be willing to do it, probably on Monday. The guy who would make the decision had left work early today. This is not an ad to order a set. I don't know the price but it will be reasonable. Please post if you are interested in a set so I know about how many to order. Again, I will post more info when I KNOW what is going on, I just want to gauge the interest. |

You might already have the longer pins. The original ones were just barely long enough and tended to come loose. It was very difficult to get them adjusted so that the top didn't rattle and then they would come loose. This has an extra piece in the middle that helps hold everything tight. It is easier to work with since it is a little longer. If your top doesn't rattle and it is easy to remove and place back on the car, you won't need the new ones. Some folks sold their hardtops or were tempted to sell them since they couldn't get the top adjusted. |

No, I didn't hear back today. They called yesterday and said they would get moving on it and call me back with an estimate but I didn't get that call. I doubt if this is a high priority for them. I am hoping they will do it. |

How likely will I need these if I ordered a prowler store hardtop and it will be here in 2 weeks? This message has been edited by CCJ on 09-24-2014 at 05:48 PM |

Jay, this was a problem with the TGF hardtops. I haven't heard of this happening with the PS tops. If it did, you would likely have a warranty issue. |

I stopped by the place this afternoon. The guy had to take off a few days this week for ???? so I don't know any more than I did before. I left one of Don (Northern Cat's) pins there last Friday. Hopefully I will know something soon. |

I stopped by the place again on Monday. He wasn't there. I called him about 4 PM on Monday. I got a return call today (Tuesday) late in the day. He said they will do it and he will give me prices tomorrow. I still won't know YOUR price since it won't be complete. It will be very close to complete but I need to find some plastic pieces to complete it. Stand by, I am making some progress, just not as rapidly as I would like. |

Don, Northern Cat's diagram for the longer hardtop pin. This is what is being reproduced. I may have to buy the nuts to go on it and I need to find the neoprene part in the center of it.
