I presume you mean a good deal for the buyer, not the seller.
I agree, they don't seem to bring much at those auctions.

My favorite part of watching BJ is seeing Steve Magnante at work on the auction stage. What a great car guy he is like a living car encyclopedia.
I have met him at a number of events, he is a true Mopar man and knows Prowlers well. Him and the dodge /SRT team actually showcased the hemi prowler when we first revealed it to the public in 2012.
He asked some pretty deep questions and dug into the car build as part of the dodge showcase review. You will hear him throw a bunch of prowler facts right off the top of his head in the video!

'97 purple Prowler went through on Wednesday evening,,,on television during 'prime time'.....you missed it.

Jenn Yeong's '01 orange Prowler went across the ring around noon today... I was there so I don't know if it was on television, but was on 'live streaming' from B-J's website.

Jenn's cat & trailer details:

Hammered at $32,000 + 10% buyer's fee = $35,200...

Deduct 10% for the seller's fee from the hammer price of $32,000 - $3200 = $28,800 ....I figure, but could be off?

I'll later post pictures of the orange going across the stage today....

They got $ 28,800 for a Prowler and trailer. Not a good deal for the seller at all.
On the other hand B-J made $ 6400 profit.

I didn't hear the trailer announced. You know you buys can watch it on line, no color commentary but no commercials
either
AND It's on most of the day! (hours more than the TV broadcast)

",,,, was on 'live streaming' from B-J's website."

You are right ,,, that is the best way to watch it,,,no interruptions, live, fast pace.... one vehicle after another

I didn't realize it had a hardtop on it also. Nice spinners, too. The buyer got a great deal.

There's a 2001 Mulholland Edition at the Russo and Steele action in Scottsdale. The flier said 9,600 miles. It's listed without a reserve and will be sold to the highest bidder. Estimated time is Saturday 2:04 to 2:24.

While rummaging around Craig's list I came across the 1997 Prowler that was sold at BJ last month. It's in Tyler, Tx with a slight markup :-) -- 8th Plymouth Prowler Produced Ever. - $39995 (Tyler) http://easttexas.craigslist.org/cto/4867191944.html

I hope Cody has pleasant DREAMS, because me thinks that is as close as he is going to get to the $39,995. Sarcasm out of the way, that is a perfect specimen for a garage queen or a 100 year climate controlled time capsule. What did it sell for at BJ? Just looked back, $29,700 included buyers fee. Just a small markup.

He's saying that based on the 0008 serial #.... However there were certainly test/pilot cars built before it, that were not issued serial #s

Bruce,,,Originally the car was purchased by a Chrysler Executive directly, so I'm fairly sure they would have some sort of documentation to prove their claim to which production build it actually was. B-J, to some degree, does research on the 'document claims' on the cars they accept for their auctions. B-J does not want to be part of any fraudulent sales due to misrepresentation. A local PHX Dodge-Chrysler-Plymouth dealer claimed to have the #9 built '97 Prowler, which sat in their showroom for atleast five years that I know of.

That is true,,,but concept//test mules//and R & D cars because they do not have #VINs, can not be sold for normal retail sales without a MSO title. Generally, we accept that those vehicles are eventually crushed. However, Ford sold (or donated) the Bondurant High Performance Driving School hundreds of Mustangs that didn't have VIN#s or titles,,,,and they couldn't sell them for street use vehicles. Bondurant had to sell them off as 'off-road vehicle use only' (racing).....or they went out of the U.S. to other countries?

I found the '97 cat listed at a Ford dealership.....so it was bought at B-J Scottsdale and car hauler shipped to Texas,,,according to the same mileage on the car:

.
.
.
http://tylerford.com/Tyler-TX/For-Sale/Used/Plymouth/Prowler/1997-Purple-Car/36623649/

.
.

The Craigslist ad first had me thinking a 'private buyer' had bought the car and decided afterwards they might have paid too much, and wanted to flip-it. The name Cody and the phone number listed in the CL ad ( 903-920-7400 ) is one of those fool-ya ads....directing the car away from a dealer's inventory sale.
