When Marc got pulled over, it was all him. We tried to tell him on the radio that there was a police car right next to him on his left. Marc was so tall and with the hardtop he probably couldn't see well to thh side. He said that he looked left, all the way to the opposite lanes and saw a police car headed the other way at the light. The officer right next to him knew that Marc didn't see him and had his hand on the switch so as soon as Marc's tires started to spin he lit him up. Jerry may have been there with iScream but I can assure you there's no way Jerry would ever break the law driving a company car on an "M-tag". Jerry is way too careful a driver especially with the visibility during Dream Cruise week. |

This was some sad news. What a great guy! We meet him back in 2003, I remember what Marty was saying about heading down a road with fire on one side. He will be missed. RIP Mark This message has been edited by Bob Hacker on 03-03-2015 at 05:23 PM |

This is terrible. One very good friend throughout the years. We hooked up many times. He emailed me just last week or so about our plans to head back to Woodward this year. Life is going to be a bit more empty without him. Truly one of the good guys. |

I thought Marc was in the 48 to 52 age range....I was wrong. He was 62 I found, but he sure looked younger. He lived his life in Rocky Mountain High fashion,,, Marc loved fly fishing and fishing in Alaska and Canada,,,along with putting his foot into the Road Warrior Always smiling and joking with others...and a fantastic story teller. I was proud to call him a friend! |

One of the best and one of my favorite Prowler owners. We always talked of my joining him in a stream with a fly rod in my hand. Marc was a true gentleman and always a blast to be around. |

Very sorry & sad to hear this news. My sympathy to his family. I met Marc in 2001 at the Crazy Horse event & we worked together on the Prowlin' the Rockies Event in June 2002. Here's pic of Marc (on right) at Crazy Heart Event... Not sure what the significance of "coon skin" hat. Maybe Larry Lord remembers... |

Laddie......That coon tail was a symbol L.Lord used on his CB antenna, but why Marc received it at the 2001 Crazy Horse event banquet evening, eludes me at the moment. The Crazy Horse/Deadwood event was not a good one for our friend Marc. A group of us met in the early morning at the Budweiser plant in Ft Collins, Co. for a cat-a-van trip to Deadwood, S.D. Marc and I were near the end of the cat line, and once we got onto I-25 North......things went downhill for Marc within a few miles. Being right behind Marc, I noticed a smoke and liquid spraying out of his rear end. Marc quickly pulled over with me behind him and RPL in front of him. Transmission problem.....the three of us changed out the tranny sensors, but that was not the problem >> transmission failure. RPL loaded up Marc's car onto his flat-bed trailer and hauled it to a Chrysler dealership in Rapid City, S.D. for repair. Marc and RPL joined the Prowler group in Deadwood, after figuring out Marc's cat needed some major work. The problem was caused by Marc having a dealership in Colorado doing a transmission filter change before the Deadwood event started, but apparently the service tech was unaware of the proper transmission fluid fill and level check procedure, and short filled Marc's transmission with ATF. Marc assumed everything was fine having the tech do the work, but that wasn't the case. Low on ATF and driving Interstate highway speeds.....meant doom & gloom for his transmission. Marc did enjoy his time at the event, mingling with other Prowler owners and rode along during cruises with other owners with a empty passenger seat. I remember most nights we were up until atleast 3am before returning to the base hotel for a few hours of sleep. MEMORIES |

This has been a real shock. As late as last week he was communicating with another owner from the West regarding joining him on a trip to Woodward Dream Cruise in August. I think they were thinking a possible repeat of his close encounter with the police, lol. Words don't cover the shock in quickly losing someone that you've know and like. Rest in peace Mr. Marc 2U. Turns out it was three weeks since we chatted. He was talking about having his motor freshened up by him and another Cat owner in CO. Last time we were in Moab together he had heat problems, head gasket issues. Your right Larry, always had his foot in that car. We had so many races together. Just so sad this am realizing one of the class acts will not be around anymore. We really miss him here. I made a few calls to no avail for info. If someone hears anything at all, please either post here or contact me privately. I feel like he will be riding with me when at Woodward this year. We had so much fun together. I'm sorry but this is hard for me, as I am sure many others. Maybe a good sign can be taken from this; I know Marc loved the people he was close to, and people in general. So, when you think of him, know he left with good thoughts in his heart for us all. All of us made a positive impact on him and in turn he did the same for all of us. |

Just got off the phone with Marc's daughter Clair. I will post some info here, then maybe someone in CO would follow up with a new line with complete info. Marc went into cardiac arrest Sunday and could not be revived. He was out having fun as usual, with his lady friend, Heather. Needless to say Clair and her family have been overwhelmed. Some info; A celebration of life will be held at the Hudson Gardens in Liddleton Co. on March 14th from 10:30 to 2:30 Clair was aware of what kind of person her Dad was, and knows he touched many lives. They are also aware of the many friends he left behind, and may wish to attend. This message has been edited by jd2ksilver on 03-04-2015 at 06:52 PM |

John,, Thank you for posting the updated information. I know Marc's Prowler friends wanted to know more on how our friend passed. I now have lost two car enthusiast friends in the past eight days. I just want to add one more thing,,,while looking for Marc's age, because I thought he was much younger than I previously thought.....I ran across that Marc's middle initial which is W. Next I see the W. stood for Wilson. Those that knew Marc well,, know that just can't be.. The 'W' had to stand for WIDE-OPEN-THROTTLE I'm still having a difficult time accepting our loss of Marc. He was truly a great guy, and will be deeply missed by those he touched. . AC, Bobcat Art Pyska, and Marc ..... end of August, 2010. |

Marc's passing is such sad news. Especially in earlier years Marc was always a huge supporter of Prowler events. Marc was a walking good time. He still has a profound effect on people. I think it is cool that a number of really good old Prowler friends have posted here for the 1st time in a very long time. Marc would be happy to think he might help renew friendships. He was that kind of guy. Our deepest condolences to all of Marc's family. Mike and Karen. |
