"It's raining cowboys" in Heaven. RIP Marc. That is really a shocker. We had a few laughs, especially after he got caught squealing tires on Woodward. Wow, hard to believe. |

quote: Exactly, Ed ... this is the year I was referring to as well ... cop, two lanes over, he lit them up, then after getting pulled over, talked his way out of it after we all pulled into a nearby parking lot. Later that night, he was singing "Its raining men" at a Kareoke bar ... memorable day/night for sure. |

Lethia and I are totally shocked..... our Prowler friend and traveling partner, Marc Scarbeary's unexpected passing leaves a deep void in our hearts. . ^ > Marc and AC's February, 2009 adventure,,,, traveling to the Town of Summerhaven, Az. on Mt. Lemmon, at 9000 foot elevation. Lethia and I also ran several road trips with Marc over many years of attending events in Colorado.....we often pushed the limits of winding roads, creating MEMORIES we will remember for a lifetime! Marc was the 'ultimate' Prowler performance owner.....not only building a stroker 5.0 engine through Prowler Pro, but Marc also had the expertise to push his Road Warrior through the most challenging roads in eastern Colorado.

Like others, I am sad and shocked to read this. Marc and shared some fun times together at Prowler events and when I would be working ion Denver over the years. One favorite memory was the "spirited driving" cruise during the first Denver event back in about 2003. The forest fires were burning one side of a mountain ridge and were hitting triple digits on the other side with Marc in the lead. |

I met Marc at a car show at Johnny's Diner which had several shows and shines each year. There would be up to 700 cars show up. I remember Marc with the Road Warrior car which always had a crowd around it. I talked to him about his Prowler and he told me how much he enjoyed driving it. He came up with the saying driving it is "Miles of Smiles". After I got my 2001 Orange Prowler the next year and met Marc on several runs and shows. He then told me about the 5 or 6 guys which were members of a Prowler club and that he was kind of the leader but that they were looking for someone to take over the club leader, and that it was just part of the Viper club and that Jim Johnson wanted someone to help run the Prowler side. I decided to volunteer. I ran into about 8 guys who had Prowlers. We then began to have meeting and became Mile High Prowlers. After several years we had about 15 members and were having many runs in the mountains. After that I turned over the rains to John Collins who has done a wonderful job running the club for about 10 years now. Marc was always a fun person to be around and was a great guy. He will be missed here in Denver. This message has been edited by KlasKat on 03-04-2015 at 02:51 PM |

We were right behind Marc, headed N on Woodward. There were wall to wall cars, of course. There was a cop on the other side headed South and Marc saw him. I think it was RPL who told him there was a cop there. Marc didn't see the one on our side of the street and he knew the southbound cop could never get back around so he smoked the tires. I don't think he had even cleared the intersection before the lights and siren got lit up. He pulled into a large, vacant office parking lot. The cop pulled in, of course. Marc was all sheepish and I could see the cop was probably going to let him go so I went over and told the cop that the cop 1/2 mile back let him go and he should also. The cop just started laughing and Marc did after the initial shock. We talked for a few minutes and then we went on to the restaurant where CJ had rigged something up for Karaoke and tricked Marc into whatever the scheme was. Marc must have sang for 6 or 7 minutes. What a good hearted guy, always smiling and having fun. This message has been edited by ed monahan on 03-03-2015 at 12:21 PM |

We had some really great times with Marc on the events. Ed mentioned the Dream Cruise in 2004 where Marc almost got himself arrested! Followed by a rendition at the restaurant of "It's Raining Men". Marc was always a good sport and you never saw him without his cowboy hat. We will always miss you Marc........you were the best friend!!! I'm sure you will find a beautiful place to go fishing!!! |

Here is my picture of that infamous moment. After pulling into the parking lot about 30 Prowlers followed Mark. The cop called for a backup unit not knowing how nice the Prowler community was. Mark immediately started laughing and offering (bribing) a hat, shirt, model cars, etc. Before the officers left we were best friends. Then on to the bar where Mark stole the show. It certainly was a time to remember. I am not certain but I think that is "I Scream" the car he jumped with. This message has been edited by Simonsez on 03-03-2015 at 02:58 PM |
