Has anyone ever had to replace the metal bracket that holds the window in place with a small plastic tab that pushes and holds the window?

The window regulator works perfectly fine and was replaced in 2014. The black plastic bracket that holds the window to the track itself broke.

Before having to order a whole new regulator, I wanted to see if there is an easy fix or an aftermarket part someone has created over the years.

Tom Mills, Jefferson Auto Makes a excellent replacement window regulator. And easy to install. Does away with all the plastic stuff.

can you give me a better description of the part you think you need? Where is it located? front of the glass or rear?
Does it screw to the glass? As much info as you can????

Tom,

It's located at the back of the drivers side door.
Front of the vertical black window track.

There are 2 screws that fasten to the window. Large metal plate/part held on to the track with a black plastic piece that slides the window up and down. (This is what broke)

Took the part to the dealer...lol that was hilarious. Called the prowler store, that too was a great laugh.

I was hoping to find another option other then buying another Regulator.

That is the rear glass lift plate. It is not available and there is no permanent repair to connect it back on to the cable that it broke away from. Sounds like it is already the second regulator in that door. I think they are telling you something. LOL
We have developed a permanent repair for the plate that will work with our regulator. Give Terry a call at 574-259-6875 and he can explain the situation.

Hoagie1, I have the same issue. I noticed it while replacing my stock regulator with the Tom Mills drivers regulator. Tom and Terry have my gold color slider plate and the rear slider track now and are making the repairs. They are great folks to work with and have been essential to my Silver Project Prowler.
Save yourself a lot of trouble. While you have it apart, replaced the whole regulator with a Tom Mills regulator.

I second (third, or maybe fourth) the suggestion to replace the regulator with the Mills version.
Back when these were introduced I bought a pair for my car and even though mine were still working acceptably at the time, I decided to replace them anyway.
Once I took things apart, I was glad that they were being replaced as both were already coming apart, but were not yet to the point of failure.
The Mills version is a superior design that is less likely to fail than the OE design, and it is less expensive too.
Mine have been in the car since May 2010 and I couldn't be happier with them.

Hoagie1, I received my repaired slider and installed it over the weekend. That was the solution to the problem.

Great to hear, I had my slider repaired as well with metal parts. I installed mine today. It worked great.
