Find a great restaurant,,, we like to eat.

Took the Prowler off the lift in the garage and put it in the shed about 4 weeks ago. Need to swap out the ball joints. I cleaned all the grounds a couple years ago,,, they still looked great.

I seemed to have taken over another family,, my sister and 3 kids.

Ohh and working on my front walls at my house,,, all the cap on the walls deteriorated so changing them all out,,, about 250 cap.

This weekend I told everyone they are on there own,, heading to veg out on the beach for the long Memorial Day weekend.

Thank You to all who has served.

Hope everyone has a good one.

There are great restaurants all over. The club house will be open in June. Supposed to be a pretty amazing place when they’re done. I love to grille out on the patio too. We’ll figure something out.

Grilling on the patio sounds like a awesome plan.

Went for a decent cruise this morning. I turned the A/C on, never had before and to my surprise it was freezing 🥶 I have no idea how old the “v” and serpentine belt are but I think it would be a good idea to change them. Any suggestions for what manufacturers make the best ones? I need an idle pulley too I believe, right? Thanks

Unless you feel, or know that the idler pulley is bad, I would not see the need to change it.

When loosening the bolts on the Power Steering pump, keep in mind there are actually two bolts to look for. One is for the tension adjustment and the other holds that adjustment in place.( I seem to recall this bolt is on the back side of the pump) Do NOT pry on things to get them loose.

For the serpentine belt, you will need a belt tension gauge to set the correct tension.
There are two different specifications, one for a new belt and another for a used belt.

If I recall correctly, the correct new belt tensions are follows:
New Serpentine belt is-190 ft lbs
The V Belt is 150 ft lbs.

Used belt tensions are both set to 120 lbs.

As far as what brand belt to use, I would suggest either Mopar OE parts or Dayco brand but that would just be my preference.

P.S.
I did the replacement from under the car while on ramps.

For some reason I do recall my idler pully squeaking in NY. Hasn't yet here in FL but I am going to change it to be safe. The old man is going to be down on the 28th, I plan on kicking one of his cars off a lift to do the belts soon after he returns. Thanks alrtg you are always quick to jump in with a ton of information, we all appreciate you.

No puller needed for belt tensions. I find it easier to work from the bottom on a set of ramps.

Still haven’t gotten a chance to do the belts yet. The Speedster is going in for service at the end of the week. I’ll have a spot then.

On my way home of course I get caught in the rain lol This time no escape I was 20 min from home and boom sky opens up, I can barely see the end of the hood!!! Luckily it only lasted 5 minutes or so and the went down to a drizzle. I figured, cars dirty its time to put it thru it's paces!! I went where there was no traffic, got her up to good speed and did a few emergency stop situations, wheel straight, turned left etc. I can honestly say I am pretty impressed with how she ran. She stops pretty good when it's wet. Never locked up the front tires, felt good. The a$$ comes out unless I totally roll out NO throttle and then eeeeease the power on. I have to go very nice with the throttle in the rain. Top up A/C on 93 degrees out and going hard before the rain and she ran great, never went over 1/2 on temp gauge. She is officially shaken out and my driver now. Hi-Boy is DONE!!

Did the metal penetrate the center portion of the tread area, the edge of the tire, or the sidewall?

IF it penetrated the edge or the sidewall, you have little chance of a repair.

IF it penetrated the center portion of the tread area, there is a chance the tire could be repaired by applying a patch on the inside.

IF the tire is not repairable, you may need to go with another size like the
29x15-20 http://www.ebay.com/itm/364290889236?hash=item54d16dd614:g:LrsAAOSwwRRjI2hM

or 31x18-20 http://www.ebay.com/itm/125907161599?hash=item1d50a6d1ff:g:LrsAAOSwwRRjI2hM

Sometimes however, one needs to be careful what they wish for, either intentionally or inadvertently.

I don't want to rub salt into the wound but do seem to recall the following comment.

"Raining season sucks!! About to trade these Mickeys for rain tires lol Every time I go for a nice ride I get stuck in the rain!! 🌧️ it’s pretty fun though, I like the way she drifts around!"

Maybe this is your chance to find a good rain tire.

It’s right in the center. I’m going to try and get it patched up from the inside. Man am I glad I didn’t sell these babies!!!! I knew I was going to need them!!! I’m going to detail her up tomorrow and see how she looks. I’m going to run these wheels for a bit anyway. Only put the Mickeys on for shows.

These nitto tires are great in the rain from what I understand. At least I won’t have the “what if something happens to my tires” feeling when I drive her. She looks so different now tho. Kinda like a salt flat racer. I hope after she’s cleaned up she looks good.
