Out of all the owners with hardtop and only 5 people interested in buying

As much as I think it is a great product understand the scope of the build & cost

It has been 4 years since mine was done. Would guess by the time it is installed and painted $5,000 wouldn’t be too far off overall cost

People bought hardtop and paid to have painted, guessing $4,000 average cost new, only to not be able to use the trunk without removing the top.

I didn’t have the hardtop, told Tom I didn’t care what it cost I wanted one if he was going to build them.

The only reason Steve has his is Tom removed it from his black car before selling or I would have the only one not owned by Tom

Would like to see 10-20 people interested but not looking good at this point

A lot of work for Tom & not a lot of money to be made

Not looking good

Guys and Gals,

After conversing with Tom, 5 units is not going to make it due to the complexity of the the misc parts required to mount the unit to the car. I didn't realize their were so many small parts.

In addition, the fiberglass industry where he has these made is in full swing.

With that said, 10 units does not seem to be enough units to have the fiberglass labor to commit to a secure order.

So, where does that leave us.

I honestly think it is going to take an order between 15 to 20 units to secure this build, justify Tom's time, and persuade the fiberglass labor to commit to an order.

At this point, we have 6 committed orders. That is a long way from 15 and way way far away from 20 units.

Some side thoughts

A) I am not sure there are enough prowler with hardtop owners out there to take advantage of this possible order.
B) I do not think people are seeing the advantages of this type of deck lid even without having a hard top.
C) That, if this order is made, in all probability, there will never be another run on these.

So I am reaching out to all, if your not sure about getting in on this possible order, please look at Larry Mayes Prowler and see the advantages of having it.

Let's show Tom how serious we are about wanting to make this possible order a reality.

Let's stir the pot and get the momentum moving forward.

Thank you for your time dude / dudettes.

Larry

It wasn’t a matter of not wanting one at the time. Rather it was a matter of finances. Same with the hardtop, I have wanted one for a long time but couldn’t justify / afford the expense. Now we are debt free and have cut our 30 year mortgage by nearly half. Right now the timing is perfect for us. I’m praying that enough people will see the benefits of this option and are also financially capable of taking advantage of this rare opportunity.

The Prowler is a VERY LIMITED model, not many made.
MOST Prowler owners are not on POA, many aren't even on the internet, probably.
The number of hardtops is very limited, also.
So, I think the odds of getting a lot of orders will be a very steep hill to climb.

That said, I hope there is enough interest to get it done. I haven't had the hardtop on the car in probably 5 years. I realize it is handy even with the soft top. That said, I am 77, I doubt if I would use it enough to justify the expense, but that is ONLY me.

Again, I hope there is enough interest to complete the project.

After conversing with Tom. 10 units should get this run started.

We need 4 more commitments folks.

Please note, there will probably not be another run of the extremely unique deck panels due to the number of hard tops in the market.

With this run, there will on be 13 units + 1 prototype unit in the market.

1 @ Larry Mayes ( WildCat )
1 @ Steve ( DublinOH )
1 @ Tom ( Tom Mills )
1 @ Tom ( Tom Mills ) ( prototype)

Right now on commitments, we are at

Onecatdog : 1 unit
Dick Henry : 1 uniy
Adacus : 2 units
Wayne Finch : 1 unit
Beware: 1 unit

6 units so far.

Questions that I and others might have.

1- Who will do installation?
If not Tom's place will there be a video on how to install it for other body shops to do, Instructions will not help as much as these Body shops hate to read instructions well.

2- How long does it take to install it?
3- Will the Pull rope still work behind the drivers side, to open lid if power goes out?

This video is rather long. but Larry will show how to open and close.

This is extremely high quality craftsmanship.

As far as installilation, this not really a DIY project. As mechanically inclined as I am, I would not take this installion project on.

With that said, Tom or Steve will chime on their instructions.

You WILL NOT be disappointed with the quilt of Tom's products. Everyone on POA will contest to that statement.

Hope this helps.

Pull the trigger, sign on.

There would be easy to follow instructions. And any body man could install it, It's what they do every day. Would only need instructions to see how to run the cables and how and where to install the latches. And yes there is a cable like the original to open the lid.

Back in town, not fooling around. Like trying things different.. I would love to help make this happen for myself and others.. Willing to make the drive to there and work with others to do the install as I'm one of those that likes hands on learning, but also can do it from instructions as Toms instructions are the best I have seen when installing his parts. I’m so on the fence with signing up. But I fear the shipping and import costs will cripple me.
I have a hardtop and this would work well for me…
Still thinking….

The timing couldn’t be worse! Six months ago I would’ve already been on the list. A couple of things have not gone to plan lately and funds are about to be extremely depleted.
Saying that I really want one!
Maybe combining two units to ship to the UK may save a few dollars and make it sort of feasible.

I have no firsthand knowledge and I am just guessing. But this could well be the very last chance. I screwed up once before and won’t do that again.

This is a modification that is very useful, functional and will make any Prowler mor unique. JMO
