Wow ...... how terribly sad. As had been said many times, Phil was a absolutely great guy and will be sorely missed. Phil and his son along with myself and my son had lunch together at our first Woodward event and have kept in touch ever since. It was always a pleasure speaking to Phil. David, our prayers are with you and your family.

Very sad news. Still remember when I met Phil at Woodward for the first time. I knew he had been ill for quite a while. When everyone talked to him at Tulsa, I guess I did not realize he was going to be called home this soon. God Bless you Phil and thank you for touching our hearts. Kim and Jerry ------------------ |

Phil, I have lost a good friend in you. Your struggle has been valiant and your passing profound. The 1st time at Woodward, catavaning to Grand Canyon, washing cars together at the grocery store in Deadwood and dinner in the Smokies...and certainly others. I feel fortunate to have been able to talk with you on the phone from Tulsa...you were 100% sure of making Woodward this year if you were up to it when it was time. I am glad you fought the good fight...I am glad your suffering is over....I am glad you are my friend. This is a sad day. Phil, you are one of the good guys and I will miss you. |

I also spoke with Phil from Tulsa. We first met on the way to Deadwood and we saw Phil at many events since then. When I spoke with Phil, he was concerned with my condition since I recently had surgery for the same type of cancer. Phil, you will be missed. Dave and Brenda |

Linda and I are also glad we got to speak on the phone with Phil while in Tulsa. One year traveling we were traveling pulling a 24 foot trailer to the Niagra Falls event. After the group of Prowlers stopped for lunch and gas we got stuck at a long traffic light. and did not get on the interstate with the rest of the group. They were outside of radio range very quickly. We called Ron & Sue Clark on the cell phone and learned they were many many miles ahead of us. I told them we would do our best to catch up. We were running very fast to try and get back with the group. Next thing we know there is a red Prowler sitting on the side of the highway waiting for us so we would not have to run alone. It was Phil. That was the way Phil was. Quiet, generous and always there for you. In Louisville last year Phil walked up to me and said he would make sure we had hat pins for the Tulsa event. Phil put each pin in a small envelope with a sentiment. It speaks loudly as to the person Phil was. He alwys put others first. In Memory of Phil. I met Phil once...and never forgot him. The sense I took away from meeting Phil was the only really important thing in this life is how well you treat other people... This is very sad news; the young do die way too young. Damn cancer |

Kathy and I are saddened by this news, we must rejoyce in the Lord together, asking to wrap his arms around him on the way home. * * * "The LORD your God is with you, He is mighty to save. My pin from Tulsa will have even more meaning. I really wish that I had the chance to meet him before his passing. He sounded like a great man. So many good people...like Phil...have contributed so much to this world of ours. Thank you Phil. |

I'm devastated. I was really looking forward to seeing Phil at Woodward and sure did miss him at the Tulsa event. He really sounded good during our phone conversation during the car show at Tulsa. He was the nicest guy you'd ever want to meet. RIP Phil - I'm going to miss you, but I'll never forget you - I promise. This message has been edited by DublinOH on 07-06-2007 at 09:25 AM |
