Getting my pictures out for the coming car show seen several with Phil in them. What a good guy. Remember he wanted to come to Tulsa but wasn't up to it and at the car show we called and passed Sues phone around and many got to talk to him. And the poster we all signed for him, only for him to pass before I was able to present it to him. THe day I was planning on going they were giving him a party at the office and didn't want to do it while they were spending special time with him. So his son Dave got the poster and a few other things I picked up for him during the trip. We have lost several great people, but at least the car brought us all together. I remember his mother saying at the funeral home she didn't releasize he had so many friends. |

Hard to believe that it's been 10 years since my dad passed away... but just wanted to thank everyone again for all the years of friendship that you gave both myself and my dad over the years. For those wondering, still have his Prowler (and my Viper) and still get it out on the road, albeit not nearly as much as he used to. Debated parting ways with it years ago, but figured I'll keep it rolling along as long as it will let me. Hope everyone is doing well and I will come out to say hey to folks one of these days! |

Good to hear from you Dave. There are very few events that go by that I don't think about Phil sometime during the trip. Her was a great guy and is surely missed by all. You should try and make the Carlisle Mopar show July 14, 15, 16. Kindest regards, Steve |

Dave, your dad was one of our all time favorites. We had a lot of fun together over the years. He was mighty proud of you, I know that for a fact. We miss him, too. He was a great guy. |

It may well be ten years but your father was remembered and talked about during the 20th anniversary event. There was talk about the time that someone, I believe that it was Sue Mayes, had called Phil from the parking lot at the Tulsa event. The phone got passed around and a great number of people had an opportunity to talk with him. Or there was the time in Texas where he got busted for blocking traffic at the end of a freeway exit. There was a police officer that wasn't happy about being blocked. The stories go on and on....everyone of them positive. We loved your dad. I didn't realize that we met him for the first time at Larry Lord's Grand Canyon event. |

Appreciate the kind notes and memories from all of you guys. Steve - won't be able to make Carlisle this year, but I am serious when I say I'll bring the Prowler out to an event. Wife and I have a two and a half year old little boy, so trying our hand on our first family vacations this summer! Wayne - I also remember that lunch... and I still have my Go Kart runner-up trophy where you snuck past me on the final laps. Ed, Larry, Bob, Simon... you guys were the best medicine my dad had in his tough days. I really mean that - because his spirits were always lifted talking to everyone. I still have that Tulsa poster signed by everyone hanging in the garage next to the Prowler... and the car still has all of the stickers, decals, etc (including the Snoopy - which my son LOVES) on the car. I've done my best to keep it as he had it and I consider myself just the caretaker. My son gets a big kick out of getting to sit in the car, it's fun knowing he's the 3rd generation Genet to do that. Hopefully I can keep it running long enough that he'll get to drive it some day. Thanks again to everyone at POA. I may not be nearly as active here as my dad was, but I think of everyone here often and will be good to see folks again in the future. |

Phil came up during more than one discussion at the 20th. I repeated the story I posted shortly after his death about the trip to Niagra Falls and many other similar stories were told. I have a feeling he was there with us. This message has been edited by BeWare on 07-07-2017 at 06:02 PM |
