Let's say it's 6.15pm and you're driving home (alone of course) after an unusually hard day on the job. You're really tired, and frustrated…… YOU ARE REALLY STRESSED AND UPSET …. Suddenly you start experiencing severe pain in your chest that starts to radiate out into your arm and up into your jaw. You are only five miles from the hospital nearest your home. Unfortunately you don't know if you'll be able to make it that far WHAT TO DO ??? HOW TO SURVIVE A HEART ATTACK WHEN ALONE? SINCE MANY PEOPLE ARE ALONE WHEN THEY SUFFER A HEART ATTACK, WITHOUT HELP, THE PERSON WHOSE HEART IS BEATING IMPROPERLY AND WHO BEGINS TO FEEL FAINT, HAS ONLY ABOUT 10 SECONDS LEFT BEFORE LOSING CONSCIOUS WHAT TO DO ?? A BREATH AND A COUGH MUST BE REPEATED ABOUT EVERY TWO SECONDS WITHOUT LET-UP UNTIL HELP ARRIVES, OR UNTIL THE HEART IS FELT TO BE BEATING NORMALLY AGAIN. DEEP BREATHS GET OXYGEN INTO THE LUNGS AND COUGHING MOVEMENTS SQUEEZE THE HEART AND KEEP THE BLOOD CIRCULATING. THE SQUEEZING PRESSURE ON THE HEART ALSO HELPS IT REGAIN NORMAL RHYTHM. IN THIS WAY, HEART ATTACK VICTIMS CAN GET TO A HOSPITAL BE A FRIEND AND PLEASE SEND THIS ARTICLE TO AS MANY FRIENDS AS POSSIBLE |

Great advice Ed. Another thing you can do --as long as you are not driving, is to squat --tighten up your abdominal muscles like you are straining to take a crap. It's called a "Val-Salva Manuver" and by doing this, the muscles in the lower abdomen squeeze the vascular system forcing blood upwards into the upper chest & heart. Try it and you'll see how well it works. |

Harry you do realize if your method doesn't work and you were trying this life saving maneuver "Val-Salva Manuver" They would just jump to the conclusion you sh*t yourself and that's why you had a heart attack. Have your prostate checked >>>> PSA levels can save your life. This message has been edited by robin on 11-12-2018 at 09:49 AM |

I have been taking an 81 Mg Aspirin right before bed almost every night for several years now. Not because I knew it is a good time to take one, but rather by coincidence. One of my Physician's has me on the Aspirin regimen as a precaution because one of my other medications has the potential to clot my blood. One of the side effects of the Aspirin is that I now seem to bruise very easy. Ed, Thanks for sharing this information. |

When I became diabetic in Nov. 2000 and quit drinking Coca Cola I was getting terrible cramps. I had started to drink diet pop and like 7 UP. I had one Coke left and drank part of it and my leg cramps went away. I was addicted to the caffeine. I don't drink coffee or tea so I started on Diet Dr. Pepper and that cured the problem. Glad a couple of you found some use in that post. I got the latest info from Dick Linnemann in an email. |
