Hi Jim.....Hellkat has always been my favorite Kat as well. The way I see it, if Travis had the ability to make you so happy once, why not give him another shot at it! Can't wait to see her! Expecting nothing but the best and for other's to again drool over. I appreciate and admire your obsession with your Kat and this hobby we all enjoy. ------------------ |

It was tempting to just get a sand, touch up and cleared over because I liked the original Hellkat so much, but the rock chips were pretty extensive and there were a dozen large chips not to mention the aluminum corrosion in a few spots....shaving the headlights is now complete so mid next week he is hoping to get to the art work. The first guy to bring his black Prowler to Travis can get a re-creation of the hellkat (with or without skulls) and a promice that he will not make another... |

This will be the last picture I post before I put up the finished pictures of the completed project.... I will show a few build pictures after it is all done... Travis will have the basecoat color on mid next week, then a couple of weeks to assemble, do all the artwork and clear.... This project will need to be totally complete in 3 weeks to make the first show of the season... |

I'm curious. Will your guy be making patterns so he can easily duplicate or make a kit to switch to round headlights? |

quote: he did talk about a mold but we have a deadline for a show to meet so Travis had to put the hammer down, he also shaved the covers to remove the leveler and screw holes. The units can always be removed and a mold made at a later date.... I truely loved the old flame work he did and I never got tired of it... I have my trust in him to create something that exceeds his work of 4 years ago, he is only 25 and I've watched him just get better and better... Thanks for all the kind words and encouragement, I hope everyone likes the new look, heck, I hope I like the new look as much as I enjoyed the Hellkat version.. |
