Right now the car is still apart but most of the panels are painted, he is using a basecoat of silver/gold metalic flake that looks silver from one direction and gold from the other...the graphics and candy paint is going over top... I put up a teaser shot tonight when I get home, still a couple weeks away from the finished product...

Are you also doing something with the exhaust ? I don't see any pipes coming out from the rear.

I'm going back to the stock tail pipes... They have been shortened and cut a more of an angle. This was the keep it close to flush with the mills rear panel. from the muffler back it has been done in flat black powdercoat...

I had to cut my exhaust pipes back also, when going to a rolled rear pan. The tips looked ridiculously long without the rear bumpers.

Quick update: The car is back together and the airbrush work is supposed to start tomorrow, I'm really hoping to get it back in a couple of weeks but am at the mercy of a hectic time of the year for the artist, he does lots of motorcycles. It has been raining here for what seems like months so I'm not in panic mode yet but am getting anxious. Once it is completed I will share some pictures and add some progression shots of the work being done. Don't want to ruin the suprise...

The painting has finally started. The art work is very involved and is going to take at least a couple of weeks, maybe 3 by the time we complete the engine and interior... I will put up some pictures when it is completed and also post some of the in progress shots... hope you all like the finished product...Thanks for all the support and patience ...

here is a peek at the preliminary artwork on the door, its going to take longer to complete this as the paint detail is very extensive on the hood and the front of the car.... What you see is just the base for the color that will be added later...

Travis has explained to me the plan regarding color but I think its all in the artists eye. for me its like only knowing 1% of the story... What he has done so far exceeds everything I expected so in the end it is about trust... He is an easy guy to trust once you see some of his work...

Jim - Travis sounds and looks like a talented guy with alot of knowledge in his craft. I have a question for you to relay. No rush, unless you see some value in it... I have seen cars on the road with custom paint jobs that were amazing. One thing I noticed in them was that strangely, the cars had absolutely no lights. That is, until they were used. They were totally integrated into the painjob. When the brakes were hit, the brake lights lit up as they normally would, showing no sign of painting over them. Same with the headlights, sidelights, blinkers, etc. When the lights went out, it was back to no visible sign of any lights of any kind. I haven't a clue how this is done but would love knowing the concept behind it. Maybe Travis knows?
