Wow - glad you did not make those reservations. 2026 is super close to you so that is great. They had motocross etc. Fun group.

On the interior trim photo, posted on 7/7/24, like the look of the park brake handle. On a Younger set website, they wouldn't recognize what this was!

No real progress at this time. I really don't anticipate much forward momentum on the car for another year or two.
I am however spending lots of cash on parts so when the time comes, I should have lots of stuff to throw at the car.

My immediate goal is to make a place in the driveway so I can lift it with a floor jack and stick a oil drain pan under the engine. I can reach the drain plug from inside the car but the clearance under it is what is holding me up at the moment.

Once I have changed the oil & filter, I'll disconnect the incoming fuel line from the fuel pump, remove the spark plugs and do a compression test. I want to know what kind of shape the engine is in before I make to many decisions.

After the compression test, I will reinstall the freshly rebuilt carburetor, grab a one gallon gas can and hook it up to the fuel pump to see if it will run.

Once it is running, I will need to let it warm up long enough to see if any of the freeze plugs are seeping, leaking, or worse if the block is cracked.

Keep in mind, this car sat in an unheated garage for twenty plus years so I have no idea how well the anti freeze held up or how old it is.

In the mean time, I am working on moving vehicles around to accommodate getting the car onto a paved surface so I can actually do something more productive.

I have recently removed the seats, carpet, and engine cover then cleaned a lot of sawdust off the engine and vacuumed the floors some in preparation for whatever comes next.

The car came with no keys and the trunk lock tailpiece had come disconnected.
I removed the front emblem and made keys for the car. Fortunatly I had keyed all the locks the same years ago.

This is a photo from before I washed it. The one above was after a quick wash.

This is an example of what the door panels looked like after being untouched for twenty plus years...

This is a door panel after a very quick cleaning.

More photo's...I know you all like pictures.

This is what the carburetor looked like. Yes it caught fire at least once. It was not destroyed and looks better now.
I didn't want to invest in a new carburetor just yet but needed something to get the car running without showering the interior with gasoline.
IF all goes well, Fuel Injection may find it's way into the car somehow.

When I sold the car it had stock center dump exhaust manifolds with 2-1/2" outlets.

I bought NEW cast iron exhaust manifolds that are currently being Ceramic coated. Less headache over the long haul anyway.

The Yellow on the floor is Zinc Chromate primer I brushed on 40 years ago and it appears to have done it's job keeping rust to a minimum.
The Black is over spray from when it was painted.

These are the License Plates I had on it for Sixteen Years and hope that might still be available unless some C8 owner hasn't thought of it yet.

My alternate choices will be CORV8, 66CORV8, V8 VAIR, or simply KELMARK.

I had thought about using the old PROWLER tag but that might raise unhealthy questions....

It looks like it is still in good shape. Hoping the engine is still good, which will give you more incentive to keep going.

I've seen worse resurrected lol Compression test is step 1 then dump the oil, Replace with something really nice like Kendall or a Lucas product. little marvel mystery oil in the tops of the cylinders. New plugs cap rotor and wires, perhaps points, I don't know this car an extra set of at lest 4 spark plugs in case one or 2 foul from the oil in the tops and as long as the timing is close and no one has played with the distributor should be good. This is of course after the fuel system has been dealt with. I am sur you know all this already tho ;-) I would love something like this to play with!! I don't know why but I have a feeling that motor is going to be fine. Good luck with it, I really hope it works out for you.
