I had my dealer repaint my bumpers the same color as my car but now I have signal problems. I drove the car for the first time tonight since getting it back and here is what's happening.... 1.Left turn signal indicator on the dash lights up when I turn on my lights. What could the dealer have done ???? If I disconnect the left front light, the right side works fine but the left side flashes at triple speed. Any ideas for this weekend before I take it back to the dealer????? ------------------ |

Ken, I'm pretty sure that you either have a bad ground in the left front signal or that the bulb needs to be replaced. (The turn signal filament may be broken and arcing across the parking light terminals.) ------------------ |

Ken, The turn signal light staying on is an indication of a bad bulb, or an open connection to the bulb. First check the left (driver side) front running light bulb and make sure that it is good. You can substitute the bulb from the other side. Also check the rear brake light / turn signal bulb in the rear to make sure it is good. Next, check the wiring going to the light to make sure that the wires are not pinched, shorted, or spliced by the dealer. He may have reversed the running light / turn signal light wires which could explain why the running light is brighter on the driver side. I hope this helps! ------------------ |

Ken, take out the bulbs and check for overspray on the contacts. Make sure the bulbs are plugged in right and check the connecters located where the bumper bolts to the chassis. They are only supposed to go in one way and have a lock strap on them. ------------------ |

Thanks for the help guys! I have tried swapping the bulbs and get the same result. I've checked all of the connectors and they are connected properly. I will check today to see if maybe the cable got pinched or shorted when they re-assembled the bumpers. It certainly has me baffled! ------------------ |

I GOT IT FIXED !!!!! When I installed my Real Rod front license plate bracket, I drilled 3 holes in the bottom of the bumper to attach it. As luck would have it, 1 of the screws went through the turn signal cable. I removed the screw and all is fine I can't get to the damaged cable because it is inside of the bumper, but it seems to be working fine and is protected from the elemants. Thanks for all of your suggestions and a word of caution to all future Real Rod bracket owners. ------------------ |

Ken, I thought that the bracket was attached with double faced tape? Richard ------------------ |

Richard, it does attach with tape but I was not satisfied it would stay there at highway speeds. There are 3 holes where you can drill and attach it and so it did . What were the odds of hitting the wires???? ------------------ |
