![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() What oil filter to use on the Prowler? I'm planning on doing the 1st change myself. What might be the different brands and serial numbers that work? Also 10W-30 or 5W-30 Mobile One? I kinda like the 10W-30... any opinions? Thanks!!! ------------------ |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Definately go with the 10W30. I read a report on Mobil One a few years back and the 'other' blends do not have the protection and characteristics of the 10W30. The other viscosities are very good oils, but the 10W30 was head and shoulders above the other viscosities. You are making a wise choice going to Mobil One, it is the only oil I will use. ------------------ |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() The owners manual recommends that you use 10W-30 oil (which is what I'll be using), I used Mobil 1 in my Camaro SS but I haven't decided wheather to use Mobil 1 or Valvoline dyno oil when I change my oil. I've used Valvoline in all my other cars & trucks except for the SS and have been very pleased with it, as for the oil filter I'll be using the Mopar 5281090 filter. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Frank - I read where Mobil 1 and STP filters were the best to use. Fram makes several types of filters (3). If you use them, buy their best, expensive one. JMO ------------------ |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Frank - I agree with others on the 10W 30 Mobile One. There may be something better but I haven't seen it yet. Sorry - I don't know if filter is same as 300M Marty ------------------ ![]() Driving my Dream |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() It's probably the same filter as the 300M. I think Chrysler likes to use the same filter on most engines, probably more cost efficient. I have a Prowler, Caravan, Viper. ALL use the same filter!! ------------------ This message has been edited by Andy R on 03-05-2002 at 08:02 AM |
