I have a couple of questions relative to the front fenders (with UNTRIMED splashguards).

Should I raise the Driver side fender to match the Passenger side fender?...or should I lower the the Passenger side fender to match the Driver side fender?...

Also..what is the easiest way to adjust the fender height..it looks like one just loosens the three bracket bolts and gives the fender a tug?...

I would adjust both fenders and split the difference. lol. You need to loosen the two bolts behind the wheel, holding the braces to adjust the fenders.

I adjusted mine all the way and also when you lossen these 3 bolts you can level the fender.I've seen a lot of Prowlers when looking at front there is more clearance between tire and fender on one side. That can be adjusted.

I agree.. I also just this summer adjusted mine... as far forward as possible, and they matched up... was having a 'drag on the passenger side' only problem... it was a bit lower than the driver side... no more problem.

What did you use to paint that kitty under the hood please?

Hi GenoTex,

The paint shop used sealer on the hood mat first. Then they applied at least 10 coats of Prowler Yellow paint to the mat. That mat just kept soaking up the paint. Not sure painting is the best way to go?

It would be ideal if YellerFever (shimmers) or someone would make an adhesive emblem available for the Prowler under the hood?

Chromer.

I painted my cat under the hood to match my silver with silver paint pens. Had to lay on the engine for about an hour to get it done, but it turned out nice. Rich Ware did the same thing with his with purple paint pens. My flap drags on the passenger side too, need to adjust mine forward. Thanks for the information! Tami

I would roll them as LOW as they can go. The way mine are, I couldn't even slide a 2x4 under them. The result? Almost ZERO rock chips along the side after 8K miles.

The downside? Eh, so they scrape on a few speedbumps....

Loosening the mounting bolts allows you a maximum of 1/8" adjustment. The only way to get more is to make the holes a bit larger. http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/Forum9/HTML/001103.html

Chromer, next time we get together show me how you do this. I did cut my guards off about 1" so they did not drag on speed bumps but they are just a little off from each other.

REMINDER - NEVER BACK OVER A SPEEDBUMP - you can rip the fenders right off that way.

when i just removed my front bunpers for replacing them with tom mills turn sig relocaters just last wk, and also had to remove wheels then remove the fenders,i agree that there is only 1/8 in differencein for to aft position, but this translates to if you push forward and lock down there is a very small space between the tire and the lip, but if you push back on the fender (down) there is a much larger space in front between the tire and the lip. to me this makes the most sence!!!! ***the mud flap bracket is just epoxyd to the fender (like the stupid way chry. affixed the lock on the trailer that all of you that have one have modified. i just finished epoxying a new oem bracket on mine using a 2 part mix from napa auto parts 3500 psi. hope this helps.

Rich - I take it you took your tire off again since we last talked yesterday? the above pics show 1/2" difference in the two fenders which would indicate 1/2" allowable movement to adjust fenders to be equal. This is based on the assumption that both fenders are same length and both splash guards are same length. Chromer should be able to move the left fender up 1/2" to match right fender height, unless one of the fender frames is bent?

Mickey, i finished up last nt after epoxy the mud flap bracket and reinstalled them. There was definitely NOT 1/2 in play, possibly on older models there was (mine is 2002).

Idive...all,

I loosened the described bolts and hardly got any adjustment up or down on the fender. I think Kraut is correct...there's just not 1/2" of adjustment to be had there.

When I parked next to GRROWL we noticed my fenders were rolled back almost 2" more than his......I looked closely at the adjusters and can't figure out how that much variance was possible. A bit of a mystery to me.....My front flaps are about an inch off the street.....no chips that way.
