Awesome! Give us the rundown on how you did it. What are you using to cool it down? Did you need to beef up the frame for the extra weight? ------------------ |

Here are the biggest questions I have; 1) Did you have to alter the firewall or Tunnel? 2) How did you get the engine to talk to the tranny? 3) Did you fabricate new engine mounts? 4) How did you handle the Radiator issue? 5) What exhaust did you use? Thank you for even attemping this.... Now feed us some info Mike This message has been edited by thedqman on 07-17-2004 at 06:20 AM |

I think that it is fair to say that if this could be done by the masses, this could alter life as we know it, here on the POA!! Can anyone imagine what it would be like to never hear " WHY DIDN'T THEY PUT A V8 IN THAT THING?" again? ------------------ |

HELP ME SOMEONE !!!! I will answer the questions. However I still need to know of a flywheel that fits the new hemi, chrysler does not make a hemi-backed by a standard tranny as of date. I would surmise that another mopar flywheel would have the crank bolt pattern and over all dimentions and number of teeth for the starter. It seems no suppliers can give me the answer. The alternative will be to reinforce the Flex. 1. firewall or tunnel was unaltered |

BWATT----The 6 bellhousing has a support bearing in it. Dont know if that affects anything. How are you attaching the driveshaft to the engine. |

Is the Kat a 97 or 99? ------------------ |

in response to how the drive shaft is connected...a coupler is bolted directly to the crank. the coupler has a ujoint with a splined sleeve to allow for slipage. much like outlaw cars and the kat is a 99 |

BWATTCAR. Congrats on the ingenuity & sticktuitiveness... Sorry I'm not much of a gearhead to give you advice. You might try calling Norm in WI. He's done several mods to the 3.5 motor and may be able to offer some asssistance. Also, somewhere on here someone had helped with the Ligenfrlther modified LS1 that was installed in the Marriot Prowler along with a C5 tranny. He may have some information. I'll try and do a search and post those links... RJP is the author and somewhere I think he said he now resided in Houston...
You may want to check with Moparmania. He attempted to put 5.7 hemi and ran into radiator clearance issues...
