Do NOT run a new wire from the back turn signal light to the front. This would make the front light come on with the rear stop lights...

halicat - If my memory serves me right, you can remove the DRL module and jumper the connector to make the turn signals operate like US cars. Check the wiring diagram in the service manual for the exact pin outs.
If everything works properly you will know it is the DRL module and not a short in the wiring.

Thanks for the info Tony.... I'm not sure where to find the DRL and when I tried to find out from the dealer the price and delivery, they told me they don't have one listed for this car...I wish I knew more regarding auto electronics, I know just enough to be dangerous....or should I say damaging...I have an appointment with an Automotive electronics specialist on Monday, I'm going to print your info off for him to read....

I really appreciate your help on this, thanks a bunch !

the lobster dinner is on me when you visit the Maritimes ...

Since two cars had the exact same problem and both are Canadian cars - I expected that the problem is the DRL module but have not yet dug into the problem further.

Does anyone know if I can order a DRL module, and just plug it in somewhere on my 02 Kandi Kat (US Kat)? Any chance all the wiring/plugs are there and in place...?THis would be awesome, I always drive with my lights on for better visibility, and don't want to wear out my light switch :-)

regards
Tomer

I believe you have to replace the entire wiring harness. It is expensive, but the labor costs would be even higher.

Newer cars require only a software change to enable DRLs

You can buy an aftermarket module for under $100 that will do the same.
