Has anyone had this problem and if so, how do you fix it. Any time I close the door hard or really step hard on the gas, my driver's side outside rear view mirror pops loose. It doesn't fall off, just the outside edge pops loose. Any ideas?
I can prevent closing the door hard, but not stepping on the gas hard.

TC, the mirror cable has a small piece of round metal, maybe 1/8 of inch diameter, in a cris cross pattern, horizontal and vertical. The horizontal piece snaps into a plastic piece attached to the mirror. Set your mirror in the full down position and pop the mirror out of the clip. With a screw driver blade push a cornor of a rag with degreaser on it down over the horizontal rod, clean as best you can. A drop of super glue, or Gorella glue, place that on the rod and snap the mirror back into the clip. This should hold up for a year or two. By placing the mirror in the full straight down position you have room to work behind the mirror, somewhat. Place a rag under the bottom of the mirror to prevent the paint from chipping and to catch any glue that might drip through. Take your time and it will work. Good Luck. After completely dry, MASH THE GAS!!!
