As an update. I had a meeting with the supplier before I headed out of town last month and a few phone calls since then and it looks promising but I am still waiting on pricing.

I know it sounds like BS but I am still waiting for the information. He has to go up the chain of command and it must be a long chain.

If you need parts made I live across the street from a manufacturer who makes specialized parts that are not available anywhere. If you have some Pics and let me know where the problem he is the man who can get-er-done.

Update,
I am back in town now and working like a beaver on the regulator project.I have a left prototype done and Installed and working fine. I have most of the assembly fixtures and patterns done and I am now working on the right side prototype regulator. Next week I will be looking at my suppliers to get pricing on the necessary brackets and small parts needed to complete the change over. It shouldn't be long and I will have a pair for someone to install in there Prower. I will keep you up to date.
Thanks for your interest,
Tom

Keep it coming. Mine crapped out last week. I need one, maybe 2. I spoke with my mechanic and he said Cadillacs have the same problem. Did not make me feel any better. Any idea when you will have them??

Thanks,

Rich Schiffman

Tom > that's exciting news!!

I know most of us are going to need to need a set of your finished product regulators.

I have no question that your window regulator product will be far more superior than what Arvin-Meritor made originally for our cars.

A thousand 'thanks' for taking on this project, and taking it to a near completion stage!

Just a note to tell Tom that when the development is completed and he has these ready to go to count me in for at least one of each side.
I'd also like to give a BIG THANK YOU to John Collins, onecatnodog for repairing my broken Driver Side Regulator.
I took it out of the car and shipped it to him and he had it BACK in less than a week! Repaired and ready to reinstall. Thanks again, John!

ds kat ,up,cause the motor has to change directions, which causes the reg to jerk, when it does that and its also fighting gravity.

The last time we fixed ours back over a year ago, I noticed that it seems that the down stroke is the most damaging. With the window channel off, looking down the crack the plastic sleeve really bent (flexed) when the window got all the way down in its movement.

I personally think the regulators are under the most stress when topped up, especially if they bind on the rubber window seals when being closed, I have been using a rubber specific spray silicone (salcon S-99 $10.00 to $15.00 a can)on the window seals to help with the window wanting to lift the top when it binds even if it's a little its enough to cause it undo stress.

it did it with the softtop & when I got my first hard top it was actually wanting to lift the hardtop right up off the rear pins after I silicone the window tracks & window seals it fixed that problem, something that is part of my regular maintenance,it really does makes a big
diffrence, JMHO

Just want to add this that it also helped with any leaks from the top because the window sealed better on the rubber seal at lease it did with mine.

hope this helps

Update,
I am real close now. If all goes well I should have a few sets of regulators ready to ship out late next week. I am waiting on the pricing for the smaller parts now and should have that by mid week. I do know they will be less money than the factory "plastic" regulators. The current retail price for the factory regulators are, $430.00 for the right side and $436.00 for the left and they are on back order with no promise date.
