I may be totally wrong (and that wouldn't be the first time) but I think the folks in the hotter climates are having way more problems with the window regs. I think the heat is causing the plastic to get brittle a lot faster.
Again, I may be wrong about that. Tom's solution eliminates that problem totally.

LOL I was thinking it was the colder weather that was making the plastic break. I think mine broke when the weather was cold (for down here). Kinda like taking something pliable, freezing it, then trying to bend it... SNAP! ... Who knows. Temps may have nothing to do with it. Maybe they really are a piece of crap not made to hold up under ANY condition. I gotta say, tho... breaking after 2 or 3 uses speaks for itself.

Mine is in a climate controller warehouse that stays 70 degrees year around. So I don't think it's the hot or the cold. Just bad design.

I only have owned my prowler one year but drive it at least
once each week each time I roll down both windows and our average temp is in the 80s...so I do not think heat is the problem

I was thinking more of the folks in AZ who have 100 plus every day for months. They seem to have more problems with them that other parts of the country. But again, I may be imagining that, I really didn't do a survey.

heat has alot to do with it.example,at car show this afternoon about 102 degrees out.rt side of car in direct sun for 3 hrs, window was down about 2 inches.got in car ready to leave, hit up button, and reg, squealed when i hit the up button.just left it,till it cooled down and then it was ok, thats besides the bad design.

Ordered a driver's side yesterday.

As always, Tom was very helpful and I'm confident that this part will be of the same high quality as the other Prowler parts I have purchased from him.

I'll report to all once I have received and installed the regulator.

Installed the Tom Mills new window regulator last night. Wade Gilbert Prowler/Viper Tech did the install. He said the instructions and color pictures were outstanding and the design is outstanding. It took Wade just under 2 hours, he said next one he could do under an hour.

Here's a few pics.

Original regulator & motor assbly.

Tom Mills assbly along with original.

Tom Mills channel that is added to bottom of glass where arm on new regulator raises & lowers glass.

Tom Mills assmbly installed...

Had both sides replaced with the Tom Mills design over the w/e. Seems it took the tech approx. 3 hrs. each side but working fine. Thank you Tom for these!

WINDOW REGULATOR UPDATE
I am currently out of parts for the window regulators. I hope to have a shipment in the next 30 days so that I can continue building and shipping orders. Please bear with me. I will let you know as soon as I receive the parts and start building again. For those that have orders in and waiting I should be able to fill those orders at that time.
Thanks,Tom
