But that is the only thing that was abnormal on the guages, and the light never came back on after 200 miles that day. And the voltage was under 14 volts, about 13.5 volts the rest of the day. So I would suggest that if the alternator "overcharges" because of a dead battery, it will trip the check guage light as well.
